After transmigrating into Journey to the West, Ning An becomes a blue-feathered demon bird of lowly bloodline. The good news is that he awakens the Myriad Heavens Role-Playing System. A demon bird in a monk’s robe, holding a golden alms bowl, faces a mountain full of demons and roars with solemn authority: “Vast Might Heavenly Dragon! World-Honored Earth Treasury! Prajna Buddhas! Show yourselves at once!” The demons: “Wait, brother, aren’t you a demon too?” Ning An presses his palms together, his face full of compassion: “Amitabha Buddha. It doesn’t matter whether I’m a demon. What matters is that you have a karmic connection with my Buddha.” The Black Bear Spirit is forced to become a guardian. The White Bone Spirit starts questioning its very existence as a demon. The Bull Demon King shuts his cave for the night, and even Sun Wukong falls into deep thought when he sees a golden-winged demon bird amid the Buddha’s radiance. As Ning An’s role-playing level steadily rises, he gains Fahai’s golden alms bowl, monk’s robe, Arhat’s golden body, and Vast Might Heavenly Dragon. He can also devour fortune, refine bloodlines, and evolve all the way! Blue-feathered demon bird, Wind-and-Thunder Golden Eagle, Nine Heavens Roc, Golden-Winged Great Peng, Primordial Roc Ancestor... Until he transcends the Three Realms and attains the Primordial Dao! Many years later, Ning An spreads his wings and shrouds the Thirty-Three Heavens. A Vast Might Heavenly Dragon coils behind him as billions of demons chant the Buddha’s name. The immortals and Buddhas across the heavens stare at this figure, whose demonic aura blazes yet whose countenance is more solemnly sacred than the Buddha’s, and are left utterly bewildered. Ning An slowly raises his golden alms bowl: “Honored benefactors, I see a murderous glint in your eyes. I fear you may be showing signs of falling into demonic ways.” “Vast Might Heavenly Dragon!”
