In the year 1368 of the Steam Calendar, the world was divided by twelve "anchor cities", and outside the cities was the endless wasteland of eternal night. The ruins of civilization from the old era and indescribable beings linger in the darkness. Every thousand years, the abyss will come and swallow up all civilization. Lin En, an ordinary archives administrator, accidentally touched an obsidian slab full of ancient inscriptions while sorting out relics from the old era. The stone slab awakened the extraordinary characteristics sleeping in his body, and also allowed him to glimpse the truth of the world: so-called civilization is nothing but sowing before the harvest of the abyss.
