Honghuang: Deputy Master of the Jie Sect

As chaos gives way to creation, the Primordial World takes shape.

The Witch-Demon Tribulation has just ended. Buzhou Mountain has fallen, the pillar of heaven is broken, the four corners of the world lie in ruins, the sky caves in, and the weak waters flood the land, bringing devastation to all living things.

Deep beneath the North Sea, an ancient black tortoise that has slept for countless eons quietly awakens.

His name is Wang Xuan, and he was originally a wisp of soul from a later age who transmigrated here.

To his horror, he discovers that he has become the legendary North Sea Black Tortoise, destined to have his limbs cut off to support the heavens!

Worse still, despite his vast power as a Primordial Daluo Golden Immortal, he has no combat arts and cannot take human form. He is nothing but a lump of “meat waiting to be butchered.”

The Six Saints arrive together, intending to take his four legs and use them to support the four corners of the world.

With death just a breath away, Wang Xuan seizes that faint glimmer of hope. He offers up his legs of his own accord and begs to be spared.

Sect Master Tongtian takes pity on him and helps him assume human form.

Though his limbs are severed and his cultivation falls to the early stage of the Primordial Origin Golden Immortal realm, he survives and is further blessed with merit from heaven.

Grateful for Tongtian’s kindness, Wang Xuan joins the Jie Sect.

In recognition of the merit he earned by offering his legs and his remarkable character, Tongtian makes an exception and appoints him vice sect master of the Jie Sect, bringing him back to Kunlun and introducing him to Laozi and Yuanshi.

From then on, Wang Xuan stands at the heart of the Primordial World’s shifting tides as vice sect master of the Jie Sect.

He knows of the Jie Sect’s glorious days, when immortals flock to its gates, and he knows the tragic ending awaiting it in the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation, when the sect is destroyed and Tongtian imprisoned.

Watch as he uses his foreknowledge and his own strength to lay plans in secret, change the Jie Sect’s fate, and overturn the tragedy that was meant to come to pass!
