The Eighty-One Tribulations come to an end.

All the demons who should have been converted by Buddhism or taken into custody by the Celestial Court instead flock to the West Sea Dragon Palace.

In the Celestial Court, only the Jade Emperor can enjoy divine pills. In the Dragon Palace, everyone gets a share.

As the assembled demons march on Spirit Mountain,

Tathagata calmly orders, "Guanyin, send Sun Wukong here at once to repel the enemy!"

Guanyin turns deathly pale. "World-Honored One, Sun Wukong has long been a general of the Dragon Palace... Even their ordinary officers are Golden Immortals."
