You Asked Me to Make Props, So What's This Southern Heavenly Gate Project?

“Boss Jiang, fifty thousand yuan. Three days. Make me a fighter jet prop that looks real! It has to be cool, and it has to move!” Seeing the fifty thousand yuan from the hack director, then glancing at his four-year-old daughter tugging at his clothes and crying that she was hungry, Jiang Chen gritted his teeth and took the job. The next second, the [Future Industrial Light System] awakened. Jiang Chen said, “The director wants it to look real? Fine, I’ll make you a real one!” Three days later, an aerospace fighter named the White Emperor appeared out of nowhere. The director looked at its smooth, rivetless fuselage and swore. “It looks fake! Where’s the industrial feel? Give me my money back!” When the prop was forcibly taken to the set and proceeded to toy with the air force’s ace pilots on radar like a ghost, the whole country was stunned! “Is this damn thing a prop? An antigravity engine, full-spectrum stealth... and you call this a fifty-thousand-yuan model?” But that was only the beginning. The director wanted to film a mecha battle. Jiang Chen brought out the thirty-meter-tall [Chengying] tactical mecha and lifted a tank with one hand. The director wanted to film an interstellar war. Jiang Chen quietly flew the [Luanniao] aerospace carrier beyond the atmosphere, blotting out the sunlight over half the planet. A few years later, an extraterrestrial civilization invaded Blue Star. A little girl, as adorable as a doll, pointed at the Southern Heavenly Gate fleet blotting out the sky and proudly told her classmates in a childish voice, “Look! Those are all toys Daddy made for me! He said if I eat all my meals like a good girl, he’ll give me the biggest spaceship for my birthday!” The whole world broke down. “You call the Southern Heavenly Gate Project making a movie?” Jiang Chen spread his hands helplessly. “Don’t get the wrong idea. I really do just make models. I’m only a tiny bit better at it than most.”
