Before Dawn

The Three Wheels and Seven Domains. The tides of the Star Abyss return once every three thousand years. The Radiant Que Dynasty monopolizes “light,” the hundred clans of the Nether Que sink into “shadow,” and the wasteland of the Dust Que buries the answers of ages past. There are three great realms of cultivation: Bounded: fight for a finite life; Shackled: break the locks within your heart; Faultless: forsake your very existence to bring peace to the world. Lu Chen, a young Daoist from the Pureheart Temple, descends the mountain with half a tortoiseshell. He only wants to eat his fill and wait for death, but the Ninth Army of the Abyss Suppression drafts him by force. It turns out he is the only living subject of the “Artificial Dawn Plan,” with “shadow-corrosion particles” implanted in his bones. He was born with light and darkness within him. To hold on to his resolve to “be remembered,” he takes the most unorthodox path of dual cultivation: True Martial Body Refinement, White Flame Scorching Stars; Spirit Martial Soul Refinement, A Single Thought, River of Oblivion. The more enemies he faces, the fewer memories he has; the higher his realm, the more tenuous his existence becomes. The third tide is coming. A rift in the Shadow Wheel tears open the dawn. Lu Chen must carve out a third path between “being forgotten by the world” and “being remembered by the world forever”: “I have been here, so no one is allowed to forget me; if I go out, then even the darkness will not dare speak my name.”
