Just My Kind of Story, with an Intriguing Plot
If you don't return home in finery, it's like walking at night in splendid clothes. I can't stand protagonists who get rich and then just keep a low profile, or play the pig to eat the tiger. Once they gain power, all they do is follow “don't bother me and I won't bother you,” content to live ordinary lives. If you spot any deal-breakers later in a book, please let me know. A Casual Reading List: Either the Blurb or the Story Is Unbeatable
2024.11.5: I noticed something interesting. The review sections often have comments asking for a “shennong,” a reader who can test whether a book is worth reading, but comments like that can make authors defensive. Recently I saw someone write, “This book is pretty good. Why are so few people reading it?” That way, the author doesn't feel awkward responding, and it can bring out some genuine opinions. Serious Reads, No Cutesy Characters or Harem Stories
