People who don't know DND don't need to read this explanation. Theoretically, you can read this book without any problem even if you don't know DND. First of all, this book does not copy the rules, but adopts the setting of "life-oriented evolution based on rules". I personally wish he looked more like a medieval adventure novel with fantasy elements. Many DND rules were changed in the book. The most obvious point is the "defense level", which is what most players call the change in AC. In CRPG video games and TRPG desktop running groups, a high defense level means that you are not easily hit by enemies. The position of a tank in these games is generally reflected in two points: first, it has thick blood, and second, it is not easy to be hit. For example, a piece of heavy armor in the game will provide a defense level of 7 or 8 points. A person wearing heavy armor will be less likely to be hit by the enemy because of his high defense level. The defense level bonus provided by leather armor and chain armor is much lower than that of heavy armor. This is reflected in the fact that the defense level of a character wearing leather armor will be lower than that of heavy armor, making it easier to be hit by the enemy. This would be very counter-intuitive when written in a novel: a plate-armored warrior holds a large shield with a door panel, and then flexibly dodges the enemy's attacks, but the enemy just can't hit him. Then there was a priest in chain mail, holding a small buckler, but he was hit frequently. This cannot be written. So all the armor and armor-related things in the novel have been processed into damage reduction. Even the defensive wrist guards that the princess received were processed so that there is a force field on the upper body to deflect attacks. Corresponding to this change, magic missiles also had to change, because the armor has reduced damage and is no longer "hard to hit". The rules include "Magic missiles cannot cause damage to inactive objects" (see 3r Wanfa Book), which leads to the setting that magic missiles are not suitable for dealing with heavily armored enemies. Another change in magic missiles is that "magic missiles cannot choose where to hit", so there is a saying that rolling on the ground can prevent magic missiles from hitting the organs. For another example, battles in the game are all handled digitally by rolling dice and taking damage. But the novel can't be written like this. I can't write "Marika dual-wielded weapons for a total of 6 rounds of attacks, hit 4 rounds, rolled 4 1D6, and also had 4 1D6 sneak attack damage." I can't write like this. That's why there is a description of the mage hitting the head with a sling and knocking out the enemy mage. This kind of description can be implemented in the game, but it is not necessary. If you were hit on the head by a stone the size of a goose egg in reality, you would faint. There are also changes regarding magic acquisition. As you level up in the game, the mage can choose any spell he likes from the spell table. But novels cannot be written like this, and novels cannot even be written to upgrade. I just hate these digital things, so I wrote this novel myself. Therefore, in the novel, I weakened the level thing. Non-spellcaster professions cannot tell the level at all. This is the effect I want. Remember, the levels of the physical kitchen knives in this book cannot be determined, and I will describe all their battles with reference to Jackie Chan movies. Back to the acquisition of magic, since there is no upgrade, naturally there is no such thing as choosing a spell from a magic table that you don't know where it comes from. In this book, warlocks adopt the PF setting and obtain spells through blood, while mages must be taught all their spells by a teacher. The mage must have enough experience and knowledge to understand the spell before he can use it. Therefore, the eighth-level mage in the book does not know what the ninth-level spells are like because no one teaches him. He can only find ways to obtain scrolls or seize other people's spell books to learn them. This is why acquiring spells in the book is completely different from the game. This was originally a book I wrote to make myself happy. I never thought there would be so many people watching and loving it. The protagonist of this book specializes in prophecy and defense, because I hate the protection system, and I just like opposition and protection. After that, the adventure team was formed, and its composition will definitely make some strong party members frown, because that was the configuration of my sand sculpture friends when I ran the group. We have no strength party, not one. Our DM is also crazy and likes to watch us mess around. If you don't like these, you have to use a more reasonable and powerful configuration to run this story.
