Wild Night

The green peach tree grows in heaven, nourished by the dew; it is no ordinary flower. Deep in the wild mountains, the waters wind far away. Tell me, for whom does a jade-like branch bloom? In the gentle chill and fine rain, how boundless is love. Who says spring is hard to hold back? Why not get drunk for you? I only fear that when the wine wears off, my heart will break! One fleeting beauty, and Heaven takes pity. She was lowborn, no more than a maid serving the general's second daughter. Then, in a single day, everything changed, and the prime minister of the court took her as his concubine. Knowing what fate had in store, she accepted the affection of this coldhearted man. In the dead of night, she dreamed that one day his eyes might make room for her. After ten months of pregnancy, she gave birth to a daughter, only to discover how cruel the truth was. Before she had even held her child, the girl was given to someone else. Then came a letter of divorce: she was cast aside for giving birth to a daughter instead of a son. With no way out, all she wanted was to throw back her head and laugh. Eight years later, she was the Left Protector of the Tushayue Sect in northern lands, and the sect leader's own granddaughter. She possessed uncanny skills and an unparalleled beauty. One smile could steal a soul. The debts of the world are never left unpaid; their time simply has not yet come. She, Ye Wu, repays kindness with kindness and vengeance with vengeance. “Second Miss, no, I should call you Madam Fu. How does it feel to suffocate? Wonderful, isn't it?” She smiled at the woman on the verge of death and asked softly. It was the suffocating feeling she herself had once endured, the kind that made life worse than death. “Prime Minister Fu, how does it feel to watch the person you love most die before your eyes?” Her beautiful eyes gleamed like sharp swords. “Fu Linxuan, you killed my daughter, so I'll make sure you have no descendants.”
