Collection of Preface and Postscripts by Lu Jin

Lu Jin

212K0

For a long time, prefaces and postscripts to new poetry have been ignored, not because their poetic value is low, but because their dissemination and acceptance face certain limitations. For example, when a collection of poems is published, readers pay more attention to the poetic works rather than the preface and postscript; and for readers engaged in poetry research, they are more willing to read theoretical works or papers published in academic journals. In essence, the prefaces and postscripts of new poetry collections are the study of poets or poetic works. At the same time, with the emergence of new poetry theory and poetic ideas, we often obtain the initial understanding of poets and works from the prefaces and postscripts of poetry collections. Especially for those studies of poets that have been historicized, later researchers have used the prefaces and postscripts as the logical starting point and precious historical materials for discussion, and obtained the basic positioning of the poet from them. Its poetic value cannot be underestimated. This book is a compilation of hundreds of prefaces and postscripts by Lu Jin. Representative prefaces and postscripts are selected and presented in the form of full text, while the rest are presented in a tabular form. Readers can understand the author's poetic thoughts from these prefaces and postscripts, and make in-depth interpretations of the corresponding poets.

Theory of Rhyme in New Chinese Poetry

Zhang Yulai Xu Ting

304K0

Discussions on rhyme and rhyme theory in new Chinese poetry have gone through a process of more than a hundred years, and there are still many controversies today. These disputes involve important issues such as whether new poetry needs to rhyme, what rhyme to rhyme, and how to rhyme, as well as how and what rhyme to use when writing old-style poems today. Poets, lyricists, critics, and scholars who study phonetics, prosody and other fields inevitably have gaps in ideas and understanding due to their different stances and perspectives on issues. This book puts forward its own views on how to resolve the controversy existing in the academic circle and reasonably explain the crux of the controversy through the discussion of the practice and theory of rhyme use in new poetry. At the same time, through detailed and in-depth academic discussions on Mandarin rhymes, the author summarizes the gains and losses in the compilation of existing new poetry rhyme books, proposes to formulate practical rhyme standards, and compiles a suitable rhyme chart for new poetry, providing a basis for the practice of new poetry creation.

Liu Song literature occupies an important position in the literature of the Six Dynasties. This article, on the basis of mastering the literature and materials related to Liu Song literature as much as possible, combined with the political system, cultural thought, scholar mentality, etc. Of this period, explains the style and artistic characteristics of Liu Song's works, explores the evolution process of literature in this period and its significance, and examines the doubtful issues of Liu Song writers. (1) The poetry of Liu Song Dynasty downplayed the mystical flavor and boring feeling in the poetry of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and realized the return to literature and the image and aesthetics of poetry. The exploration of poetic styles by Bao Zhao, Xie Zhuang and others promoted the emergence and development of miscellaneous words and seven-character styles. (2) On the one hand, the Ci and Fu of Liu and Song Dynasties maintained the characteristics of style arrangement, and on the other hand, they added functions such as environment creation and lyricism, evolving in the direction of poetic characteristics, and profoundly influenced the development of Qi and Liang Ci and Fu. (3) The writings of Liu and Song Dynasties experienced the process of prose, parallel prose, mixed prose, and parallel prose, realizing the transformation from "ancient" to "parallel". (4) The significance of "transition" in Liu and Song literature is embodied in the transformation from reason to emotion, from talent to learning, and from elegance to vulgarity. (5) There are many doubts about the writers of Liu and Song Dynasties, which this article conducts research on. After examination, Yuan Shu served as the priest of the Yikang Army of Pengcheng King, the wine guard, the prefect of Xuancheng, and the concubine of the prince in the eighth, nineteenth, and twenty-fourth years of Yuanjia respectively. Wang Wei did not die of regret and grief due to misdiagnosis by his younger brother Seng Qian as historical records say, but he died of poisoning due to taking Hanshi Powder for many years. Etc.

Aladel Spit

199K0

The epic world is not only a joint or combined phenomenon of society and action, but also an aggregate structural system of culture, that is, mind, thinking or character. The composition of the two systems is the imitation principle behind empirical reality - derived from mathematical and statistical logic such as ontology repetition and circulation. As the title of the book indicates, epic typology and epic poetics refer to epic theoretical examples based on two humanistic interpretations of the exploration of the cultural grammar of steppe epics, while "social mind + imitation" refers to an overall theoretical perspective based on social action, ontological imitation of the cultural mind (repetition or cycle, etc.) And grammatical logic. The angle and interpretive framework, that is, starting from the corresponding relationship of cultural grammar, using epic typology, social action imitation and epic poetics, cultural mind imitation as the basis for theoretical interpretation, and then use this to respond to and discuss the ontological misalignment assumptions and logical corrections of the empiricist expression-reflection theory and social dramatization theory.

Gu Wenyan

246K0

This book provides a historical and morphological analysis of the spread and reception of modern and contemporary Chinese literature in the German-speaking world. The dissemination of modern and contemporary Chinese literature in the German-speaking world experienced the West German intelligentsia's acceptance of political exoticism amid revolutionary fervor during the Cold War, and the East German intellectuals' utilitarian acceptance amid repeated policies. After the 1990s, the two communication paths gradually merged into a unified German literary mechanism, forming a pluralistic reception paradigm with politicized reception as the basic framework. The recipients in the German-speaking world start from the spiritual tradition of local intellectuals. The politicized acceptance of modern and contemporary Chinese literature is always accompanied by the criticism and correction of the same paradigm, guarding the literary spirit they respect in dialectical reflection.

Yao Jiagan

155K0

Regarding Brecht's pursuit of dramatic ideals, it is necessary to analyze the intrinsic goals of his theoretical propositions from his overall conception of the stage. Brecht's drama has a grander vision beyond art, that is, to participate in the practice of transforming social patterns. Therefore, he must reform the function of drama to adapt to this social task, and use "defamiliarization" as the aesthetic principle to experiment with various stage art methods to achieve the purpose of prompting the audience to think and guide them to act. Emphasizing returning to the epic theater itself is to extract an internal expression path of "social tasks-dramatic functions-artistic means" from the dramatist's artistic activities, thereby deepening the understanding of its dramatic characteristics.

A Study of Anglo-saxon Literature from a Spatial Perspective

Zhang Tao

161K0

This book comprehensively examines the literary works of the Anglo-Saxon period from the perspective of modern space theory. It takes different levels of space: natural space, social space, psychological space and spiritual belief space as its warp, and different types of texts such as heroic epics, lyric poetry, saint biographies, and wisdom literature as its weft. It explores the spatial concepts and landscape characteristics elaborated in key texts. The study focuses on the interaction between different groups of characters and their places of residence, revealing that Anglo-Saxon writers were actively committed to transforming the abstract and broad concept of space into concrete spatial representations such as places, landscapes, regions, and boundaries that can be experienced and perceived. The research breaks the barriers between space, place and landscape, fully examines the interoperability and uniqueness between the three, and thereby digs out the spatial construction characteristics presented in the literary texts of this period and the social and cultural information they carry. This book contributes to the development of space discussions for early medieval texts, and to a certain extent enriches the application of spatial theory in domestic and foreign literary studies.
