About This Novel
He Tianjiong (1877-1925), a native of Guangdong, was a veteran of the 1911 Revolution and a pioneer of the democratic revolution. He joined the Chinese Tongmenghui and followed Sun Yat-sen's revolution for 20 years. He successively served as the accountant and director of the Guangdong branch of the Tongmenghui headquarters, the director of the Guangdong branch of the Chinese Revolutionary Party, and the secretary, consultant, and counselor of the Guangzhou military government. He mainly assisted Sun Yat-sen in handling Japanese affairs and fundraising, and contributed to the Revolution of 1911, the anti-Yuan movement and the law-protection movement. This book is a compilation of He Tianjiong's surviving writings, letters and related materials, which is valuable for understanding the revolutionary cause of He Tianjiong and Sun Yat-sen.
