A Dream Across Two Thousand Kilometers

Senior year begins. The cicadas buzz endlessly through the summer, parents dream of their children making it big, and every question type seems easy to master.

Xie Qingyue feels dead inside, as if he's sick of the world. He goes through the motions, solving problem after problem, sitting through class, and becoming the kind of kid other people praise.

He thinks there's nothing interesting about this world. He doesn't know how far he'll go, either. His cold, ruthless mood hangs in the air like smoke.

Then one day, while he is taking a nap, a piercing cry shatters his peaceful, dreamless sleep.

His brows knit in his dream.

What the hell was that?
