A Pale City

On a night of heavy snowfall, after killing his victim, the murderer returned several times to check the body's condition. By the time he came back for the last time, it was six in the morning. The first light of day had appeared, and the whole city was wrapped in a peaceful blanket of white. He was bent over, shoveling snow in an attempt to cover the dead body more thoroughly when Ms. Zhou Wucan, a helpful passerby, came bouncing over with a shovel to lend a hand. True to her name, she greeted him brightly:

"Good morning! You're out playing this early too! I've worked at an amusement park, so I know what I'm doing! To make a snowman, you have to start by rolling the snow into a ball!"

As she spoke, she crouched down and felt around until she touched something.

There was something in the snow, round and bulging.

And it had hair.
