After Fang Yuning dies, Shi You spends his days lying in bed in a daze, the song playing on repeat on the phone beside his pillow. Then Fang Zeming, Fang Yuning's father, and Shi You's mother, Shi Qian, come to find him together.

He and Fang Yuning were supposed to have a wedding, but Fang Yuning died unexpectedly, and the wedding became a funeral. Shi You never got to give him the wedding ring he'd prepared.

Later, the ring goes missing too. Shi You braves a typhoon to look for it, then drives through a torrential downpour. Thinking of the little home he and Fang Zeming, Shi Qian, and Yangmei have managed to build again, he fights to keep his emotions in check as he hurries back.

-

When the car skids through the guardrail and crumples into a heap, the song playing inside is still "Ontario Gothic."

Shi You doesn't much like its title.

He translates it into Chinese as "Farewell."

P.S. Yangmei is a child, the adopted daughter of Shi You and Fang Yuning.
