A Springtime Summons

When you see, hear, and raise your hand,

destiny leads you toward fear.

-

After Jian Congming was deliberately blinded, she spent nearly ten years never leaving home.

The place where she lives is quiet and sparsely populated. Hardly anyone has passed through in ten years, but recently, frightening sounds have begun coming from the area, nonstop.

She remembers that person leaping from the rooftop and spends night after night unable to sleep. Her nerves frayed, she has no choice but to go outside and look for a way to solve the problem.

It's warmer outside than in her room. Something falls on her face, startling her.

A hand removes a flower petal for her. Ten years later, she smells once more the scent of the person who should have died falling from the roof. Jian Congming crumples to the ground.

"Sorry," Gu Huixin says. Even his voice sounds just like "him."

"One of my family's fruits was carried over here."

Ten years have passed. It has grown into a tree and blossomed, drawing wave after wave of visitors who come to admire it and take photos.

Jian Congming forces herself to stay calm and has just begun to recover when she hears a voice above her:

"You're my brother's ex-girlfriend, aren't you?"

"The person he jumped off a building to report."
