People everywhere seek immortality and the Dao, kneeling in devotion, all for the sake of an answer.
The gods say, "Go forth and grow. Go forth and resist."
[Reckless Male Ghost Buddha Top] & [Mad, Rabid Prince Bottom]
Within a speck of dust lie three thousand worlds; in half a fleeting moment, eighty thousand springs.
The endless night had only just faded. Heaven and earth lay shrouded in gloom, and all things were stirring back to life. Lu Ming, the Eighth Prince of the Xuantian Kingdom, was sent north on a secret imperial order, escorting a mysterious figure bound in iron chains and wearing a hood to the far northern reaches.
Halfway there, they were ambushed. An assassin beheaded the mysterious figure with a single slash, and the hooded head rolled to Lu Ming's feet as he fought in a sea of blood.
The guards were no match for their attackers. In the confusion, Lu Ming snatched up the hood and fled into a ruined temple in the wilderness. Dust swirled and cobwebs hung everywhere. Bleeding from his grievous wounds, Lu Ming leaned against the rusted Buddha altar and waited to die.
As he hovered between life and death, a monk of alluring beauty and serene grace entered with unhurried steps. He turned his prayer beads and lowered his eyes, vermilion lips moving as if reciting scripture, yet not a sound came from him in the dim lamplight.
Lu Ming struggled to lift his eyelids. "Who are you?"
The jade-faced young monk said nothing, his gaze lowered.
With the last of his strength and clarity, Lu Ming drew his dagger and charged at the jade-faced monk.
The bewitching Buddha simply sidestepped. A few deft moves were all it took to subdue the gravely wounded Lu Ming. He crashed to the ground, the other man's foot pressing against his cheek and pinning him in place.
As he struggled, he watched helplessly while the mute young monk bent down and picked up the head wrapped in the hood.
With a flick of his wrist, a head identical to Lu Ming's rolled to the ground.
At that very moment, lightning split the sky outside the temple, and the two Lu Mings stared into each other's eyes.
"Amitabha. This humble monk is Wudao."
The skiff rocks, its oars drifting through a thousand miles of scenery
"Little monk, my name is Longevity."
"You smell rather strongly, benefactor. You should bathe."
"..."
"Xiao Wu? A-Dao? What do you want me to call you?"
"Just call this humble monk Divine One."
"Sure thing, A-Dao."
"Amitabha. Longevity, I want your heart."
"A-Dao~ My heart's been yours all along~"
"I want your bloody heart, Longevity. Cut it out and give it to me!"
"Your father's surname is Lu, you're the eighth-born, and your mother died at the foot of Huanshan. Isn't that right?"
"Since you know who I am, why don't you kneel?"
"You hate that identity because the man on the imperial throne secretly sent you to the frozen north because of it. Is that right?"
"So what? I'm standing right here in front of you, aren't I?"
"The head beneath the ancient Buddha's statue is the real Lu Ming."
"Who are you, really?"
"This humble monk is Wudao."
Dawn breaks, but the sudden rain has yet to stop
[Wudao] [Chixiangzi] (Top)
A jade-faced Buddha, a flower-faced demon monk, a pretty face in deep meditation.
A sinister male ghost, so arrogant he thinks himself above everything.
He has the face of a bottom, but does all the things a top would.
"Amitabha. Such a pity. Pull out his tongue!"
"I am the lord of all things beneath heaven."
"Amitabha. Longevity, your time is up. You must die."
[Longevity] [Lu Ming] (Bottom)
The Eighth Prince of the Xuantian Kingdom (whether he's the real one is unknown).
A mad, rabid hound, prone to extreme and volatile mood swings.
He has the face of a top, but settles firmly into the bottom's role.
"Wudao? Is it heaven and earth that lack the Dao, or is it the human heart?"
"A-Dao, take a look and see if I've got a boil on my butt."
"You mean that warrior who called you an evil ghost? Oh~ I killed him on my way past."
Chixiangzi: "You were born from me, and you will end with me."
###Content warnings:
1. The top and bottom are equals in this story. Fans of either character type, please read with caution.
2. The top is very rough early on, but the bottom is no pushover either ε-(´∀`; )
I've really wanted to write this premise, haha.
