A few years ago, I saw real wilderness in the Gobi Desert in the northwest.
When the off-road vehicle broke down, I got out of the car to get some air. All I could see were weathered rock formations and dry river beds. It was so brutally honest that it didn't even bother to waste the effort to pretend to be alive.
The guide stood in front of the car inspecting parts. I handed him a cigarette. When he took it, he told me that even the indigenous lizards would get lost in this place. Then he pointed to the crooked power transmission tower on the horizon and told me that it was built in the 1970s, and now even crows don't settle on it.
I didn't say anything, just smiled.
We finally repaired the car before sunset. I was still standing next to the car, looking west. I was standing above the setting sun.
Purpose: Get along with the world
