Ancestors, Save Me! Kitty, Save Me!

Bai Yuan was born of the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. Neither demon nor ghost, he is simply a spirit formed from pure spiritual energy.

Hundreds of years ago, someone tricked him into becoming their household guardian spirit.

But human life shines as briefly as a meteor. That person left behind only a brilliant smile before sacrificing their life for their ideals.

Bai Yuan consequently fell into a long silence. When he awoke again, he found the once lively household, surrounded by a crowd of people laughing and talking, desolate and in decline.

Only one descendant remained, living a miserable life.

Spiritual energy had run dry, but the powerful force contained in that bloodline was still the finest food for a spirit.

So Bai Yuan watched that scoundrel's descendant get chased by ghosts and monsters, looking utterly miserable.

When he heard the other man's piercing screams as he was surrounded by a red-clad female ghost, a headless horseman, and lanterns made from human heads, Bai Yuan let out a helpless sigh.

"You're a real disgrace to the Lu family."

Unfilial descendant: !!!

On a night when black mist filled the air and a red moon hung high, a hundred ghosts roamed the land.

But a cat with pure white fur fell from the sky, landing right on his head, then strode gracefully toward the monsters and spirits.

Heavenly lightning descended, purging all filth, and even the sky grew clear.

The pretty cat before him simply let out a long "meow" and raised a paw to rub its face.

Sitting atop the narrow altar table, Bai Yuan spoke with disdain.

"Your descendant sold your coffin! Are you going to do anything about it or not?"

A hazy figure appeared and affectionately picked up the cat lying on the altar table.

"Should I go to the underworld another day and ask my sister to tell them off in a dream?"

"Money is just an external possession. It's enough that your descendants are alive."

Bai Yuan disdainfully pushed the other person away with a paw. "Of course you can give selflessly. You're worshipped as a mountain god!"

The person's figure came into focus, black hair like ink, as he pressed his forehead against Bai Yuan's.

"Even a sage has selfish desires. My little cat is my greatest weakness."
