Tales of Vengeful Spirits

“I... I think my son is going to kill me!”

In an alley in Jiangnan, a brightly dressed woman sat at a pearwood table in a courtyard, both hands gripping the glass of water on the table.

The courtyard gate stood open. Several children ran past outside, chasing one another and chattering noisily, their voices gradually fading into the distance.

“Mm. Go on,” came the calm, unruffled voice of the young woman across from her.

At her words, the woman’s eyes trembled. She raised her head.

The girl sitting opposite her was coolly beautiful, and looked barely over twenty. Suddenly, the woman wasn’t so sure she hadn’t simply grasped at straws in her desperation.

Could this young woman really save her?

Legend has it that a thousand years ago, the Underworld shut its gates, and the Lord of the Underworld vanished without a trace.

A thousand years later, a woman named Fen Yin appeared in the world. Carrying a Grievance Bell Lantern, she roamed the night, ringing its bell to send countless ghosts into the next life.
