Just as Shen Qingtang and her five-year-old daughter Shen Nian were on the brink of death, they were suddenly dropped into the Primordial World, in the middle of a dense forest of dead trees.

She started with a handcart, no food, and scarce water. On the world channel, some people were wailing while others stumbled upon lucky breaks.

Just as Shen Qingtang struggled to survive, a message appeared before her eyes:

[Congratulations, Survivor Shen Qingtang! You have awakened the talent: Appraiser.]

[Appraiser: Identify the hidden properties of anything.]

Venturing into the rainforest:

Everyone else: That’s a poisonous fruit, don’t pick it. That’s a poisonous snake, don’t touch it.

Shen Qingtang: So poisonous fruit is edible once peeled? I’m picking it! So the snake’s tail isn’t poisonous, and its meat is tender! I’m chopping it up!

Climbing Stone Mountain:

Everyone else: There’s nothing here. Let’s go.

Shen Qingtang: There’s a crystal deposit buried under this rock! Dig!

Before she knew it, Shen Qingtang had reached the top of the world rankings.

Someone on the world channel sent a mocking message: Haha, who’s Shen Nian, the person at the very bottom?

Someone else: Why are you laughing when you’re second from the bottom? The top-ranked big shot is her mom. Do you have one?

…They couldn’t laugh anymore.

The world channel fell silent for three seconds. Then messages flooded the screen:
