The Perfumers' Family's Coroner

Jing Si was born into a family of incense makers in Yunzhou County. She was beautiful and had a keen sense of smell, but a massacre ten years ago changed her life forever.

After escaping the fire by the skin of her teeth, she assumed a new identity, became a coroner, and set out to clear her family's name.

Ten years later, on her way to the capital, Jing Si met the Minister of Justice's attendant, the young master Hua Yue, after a murder at an inn.

Jing Si admitted that at first, she approached Hua Yue mainly to use him.

But Hua Yue seemed perfectly willing to let her take advantage of him. Whenever they met, he tapped his folding fan against his palm, looking thoroughly carefree. "Miss Jing Si, we've met again."

And so, at some point, while Jing Si was busy using him, she seemed to have gotten herself caught up in the whole thing.

Hua Yue: "A Si, you're so beautiful."

Jing Si: "Mm."

Hua Yue: "A Si, would you like to see me often?"

Jing Si: "Mm."

Hua Yue: "And when you see me, are you happy?"

Jing Si: "!!!"

What a flirt. Don't let him fool you.

Jing Si took a deep breath and held fast to her resolve.

Until one day, Hua Yue finally gave up hope. Only then did Jing Si realize what was happening and hurry after him, but Hua Yue flicked his whip and disappeared among the trees.

Jing Si wondered: If I start pursuing him now, is it too late?

She grabbed Hua Yue's hand. "Don't go."

Hua Yue laughed softly. "You're not at all shy, are you? You've got some nerve."

Both virgins, happy ending
