"Sis, why are all these people in such strange outfits always coming to our house to see you, bring you presents, ask you questions, and get you to do quests... while muttering this weird word, 'affinity'?"
In response to the question from NPC [Village Chief's Daughter - Xie Li], NPC [Guide - Mi En] answered:
"...Because they're too lazy to look it up online."
The Guide: the game's encyclopedia, the first NPC players meet, and the first target of their abuse.
Got a question? Ask the Guide. Need to complete an "NPC kill" quest? Ask the Guide.
Zhou Mi'en was a player of the full-dive game Scarlet Old Earth. After clearing the game by exploiting a bug, she transmigrated into it and became the Guide, in charge of every item's recipe.
Then the players abused her nine times in a row.
Once affinity reaches 50, you can kill the Guide by giving her poison. The Guide has no right to refuse.
...Yep, that's how ridiculous this game's rules are.
After dying ten times, a Guide is replaced by another Guide.
Mi'en doesn't want to die. She still wants to find a way back to reality.
So, under no circumstances can she let anyone's affinity with her reach 50!
...Who knew these players could all seem so friendly on the surface while hiding who knows how many nasty tricks?

A rumor has been going around the top guild lately:
Nothing you give this Guide or any quest you do for her raises her affinity anymore.
Keep pestering her, and you might even trigger an insult dialogue!
The strongest mercenary, who roams between countless guilds: "What's the point of raising the Guide's affinity?"
The veteran swordsman, who pioneered a whole new playstyle and founded the top guild: "...I'm not interested in NPCs."
The only necromancer on the server, who unlocked a hidden dungeon: "Sounds as fun as fighting a boss. But I have a quest to finish, so I don't have time for this..."
A few evenings later, the three of them ran into one another outside the Guide Mi'en's house
For a moment, all they could feel was awkwardness.
The mage gave an awkward smile. "What a coincidence. Are you here to raise her affinity too?"
The mercenary: "I'm just asking about the relic recipe."
The swordsman: "...I was passing by on my way to fight a boss."
Mi'en pushed open the window and tossed out the presents the two of them had secretly slipped inside. "Thanks, but I don't accept gifts. Give me anything else, and I'll tell you to get lost!"
No one gets to raise her affinity!!

*Full-dive game, with most of the story taking place in-game.
*No picking one love interest, it's all-in, and there are more than the three mentioned in the blurb.
*Forced by her NPC status to act like a friendly, sunny girl on the outside, but inwardly follows the path of ruthless cultivation and loves no one: a fiery Guide x all kinds of male player characters.
*The abusers get their comeuppance as their targets make them suffer for love; the affinity-grinders turn into devoted simps; duels and PvP, with a battlefield of romantic rivals every day.
*But Mi'en doesn't care. The harder the players fight, the louder she laughs.
