My Archrival Became My Teammate (Esports)

The Sword Debate is the hottest Chinese-style competitive game around, with a top-tier professional league whose commercial value far outstrips the competition: Huashan Sword Debate.

The male lead and the protagonist are both ace players in the Huashan Sword Debate league, whether in skill or looks, but the two kings never meet. They're famous rivals in the league.

The male lead publicly calls the protagonist an arrogant jerk, and the protagonist publicly calls the male lead a pretentious show-off.

The protagonist mocks the male lead for finishing second three times in a row, and the male lead reposts their one-on-one record: 14-5.

They put into practice the motto: Competition first, friendship one hundred and first.

The fans of their two teams end up at each other's throats, too.

But fate has other plans. The protagonist's club owner gambles away the business and goes bankrupt, leaving the league, disbanding the team, and selling off the players.

The male lead's club buys the protagonist for a sky-high price.
