Feudal-era trashy tastes. As expected, this is still a short story. Not sweet or satisfying, and not an appealing flavor.
[Sweet and naive when amnesiac, ruthless and calculating when lucid, the prince bottom x lowborn slave of the prince, the top]
An old-fashioned, melodramatic setup.
The prince is attacked while away from home, and after suffering serious injuries, he falls unconscious in a mountain village.
This is where a certain people live. Because of their lowly bloodline, they were born to be slaves. When the current emperor ascended the throne, he granted a general amnesty and went further by freeing a number of slaves and giving them commoner status, allowing them to farm and live like ordinary people.
The top is descended from this people. When he discovers the bottom unconscious and recognizes that the jade pendant on him can only be worn by nobles, he saves him, intending to use the favor to get something in return.
However, when the bottom wakes up, he has lost his memory. He remembers nothing and trusts the top completely for saving him.
With the bottom taking the initiative to draw close and the top deliberately indulging him, they secretly pledge themselves to each other like lovers whose relationship must remain hidden.
That is, until the prince's private troops find them. After medication and the stimulation of familiar faces, the bottom finally regains his memories.
Even after recovering his memories, the bottom cannot let go of the top. He decides to keep the truth hidden and tell him after celebrating his birthday.
But on the eve of his birthday, the bottom learns that the top saved him for another reason from the start: he wanted to use the bottom's noble status to secure a chance to take the imperial examinations.
The bottom is used to people around him currying favor for their own reasons, but he never expected the top to deceive him too. In the end, he chooses to leave without saying goodbye, only instructing the local magistrate to grant the top the special favor of being allowed to take the examinations.
Three years later, at the palace examination in the capital, the bottom, now the crown prince, watches the top step into the palace hall.
A month later, an urgent report arrives before the emperor. A foreign tribe had developed rebellious intentions and planned to occupy the mountains and revolt. Fortunately, the local magistrate discovered the plot, and the rebellion was completely suppressed.
However, they discovered that the newly appointed second-place graduate had been exchanging secret letters with the foreign tribe. His treasonous intentions were plain to see.
The emperor flies into a rage, but the crown prince personally requests that the second-place graduate be spared the death penalty. Since he was born a slave, just send him to the crown prince's residence to spend the rest of his life as a household slave.
On the night the top is sent from the death cell to the crown prince's residence, he is bound on the floor and made to watch, amid the stench of blood, as the crown prince takes his male favorites in the rear courtyard.
