For Herui, who had never left the Zoldyck Family, the family was her pride and her responsibility.

So after Silva went missing, she became head of the Zoldyck Family as planned, taking over and inheriting everything her father owned.

How could she become a competent head of the family?

First, she had to remember to reassure the previous head's faction.

"I'm so sad... I've already lost your father." Kikyō wept as she stroked Herui's hand. "Herui, my child, you'll make up for the absence of my 'darling' and soothe all my loneliness, won't you?"

"The system of passing the position of family head to the wife has already been rejected, Mother." Herui took Kikyō's hand and placed it over her swollen belly. Inside was Silva's unborn posthumous child. "But I'll treat Kalluto as my own."

Second, she had to remember to warn her overly ambitious allies.

"I'm already carrying the next generation of the Zoldyck Family." Illumi, who wore a pregnancy stone every day, looked displeased. "This isn't fair, Herui. We're both pregnant. You can't treat me and Mother differently."

"That doesn't give you a reason to test my authority." Herui's expression was so calm it was almost cold. "I'll let it pass because you're pregnant. Don't do it again."

Finally, she needed a capable heir.

Herui looked at Killua, devastated by the death caused by Nanika's "wish," and gently stroked the top of his head. "You need the Zoldyck Family's power to protect Nanika and Alluka. You're also the next head of the family I have in mind. So, Killua won't let me down, right?"

Endless work, a missing father, a depressed mother, and younger brothers bickering all day for attention.

That was what it meant to be head of the family.

Fortunately, everything was under her control.

Silva, who'd been missing for a year, came back to find he'd been forced into retirement: ? Well, then, off he went?

1. This is the head-of-family IF line from I Almost Starved to Death in the Zoldyck Family. You can follow it without reading that story, but I recommend doing so.

2. Herui is a nonhuman whose nature is essentially AI. She's two years older than Illumi.

3. The timeline and ages have been adjusted. For example, Kalluto is five years younger than Killua and was Silva's unborn child when he went missing.

4. Note that the category is [Multi-Fandom]. I'll say it again: this is not a drill!!

5. Multi-fandom stories probably don't have much of a ranking either. This is a short story I'm writing for fun, so reader feedback is my only motivation to finish it!

6. Hisoka will make an appearance. He's a true romantic, but the author likes throwing him into crossover pairings.

7. I changed the title because, on reflection, I don't think there's any need to emphasize gender. An AI's gender is AI.

She covers her nose and attacks Todd's background. "Someone from Crime Alley can climb the social ladder in a single day, and you should be grateful for Bruce's kindness."

She orders Drake around with her chin held high. "Always remember your place. Bruce only needs you because he doesn't want to work. I'll be keeping an eye on you."

She points at Damian and scolds him. "You think you can inherit everything from the Waynes? Do you think copying my personality will make Bruce like you?"

Even when Bruce gently advises her, "Family should get along," Lillian only nods perfunctorily, then forgets all about it as soon as her naive dad turns around.

Lillian Wayne is just like a villainous heiress straight out of a TV drama, the kind of nasty bitch who'd pick a fight with the heroine.

If the dazzlingly beautiful Lillian Wayne has any redeeming qualities, it's that she stands up for her family.

At a party, when Jason is mocked for his background, she coolly splashes her wine in the offender's face. "Who are you to stick your nose into Wayne family business?"

When guests insinuate that Bruce has a secret interest in "black-haired, blue-eyed boys," she tugs on Dick's tie and lightly kisses the corner of his lips. "Could it be that Dad's doing it because of me?"

She even tells Batman, right there in the passenger seat of the Batmobile, after he rescued her from Professor Pyg: "Don't think I'll agree to you becoming a Wayne just because you're trying to win me over. Bruce is only playing with you."

No one in the Wayne family ever imagined that their overbearing sister and eldest daughter would one day empty her magazine at the Joker.

"Stay away from my dad. Your face is so ugly it hurts my eyes... Who do you think you are, lusting after Bruce?"

Batman arrives too late. Lillian is still shouting, "The Joker ran into my line of fire! This was self-defense!" Though her whole body is trembling, he pulls her into a tight embrace.

"We can fix this," he says. "You shouldn't have had to do this... Lillian, I'm sorry."

And that is how the Joker died.
