[Proud, flirty young nobleman x badass martial arts heroine, one-on-one romance, happy ending, mystery solving, groveling chase!]
Jiang Peizhi is the capital's number-one playboy, the heir to the Duke's mansion, a whiz at solving cases, and a VIP customer at brothels. One day at a banquet, he can't keep his mouth shut and flirts with a cold-faced beauty. She promptly throws him over her shoulder into a lotus pond. Whoops, he picked a fight with the wrong person!
That person is An Muqing, who has just returned from the martial world and boasts incredible martial arts skills. An Muqing, a twenty-five-year-old office worker from the modern world, transmigrates to this fictional dynasty and becomes the illegitimate fifteen-year-old daughter of the Vice Minister of Justice.
After spending two years wandering the martial world, she plans to return to the capital and live a quiet life as a beauty. Instead, she runs straight into a murder case and is forced to work with this narcissistic, sharp-tongued young nobleman to solve it.
Even more absurdly, as the investigation goes on, the guy starts pursuing her! Flowers, poems, public declarations of love... Too bad that every time he makes a little progress, he gets caught visiting a brothel.
An Muqing (coldly): "My lord, is this what you call a sincere attempt to win me over? You want me to catch you cheating at a brothel for entertainment?"
Jiang Peizhi (flustered): "It's a misunderstanding! I was only there to investigate a case... Investigate a case!"
Later, he completely enrages her by saying, "She's only an illegitimate daughter." An Muqing packs her things and walks away without looking back. Only then does Jiang Peizhi panic. The groveling chase is officially underway!
One day, Jiang Peizhi blocks the entrance to the An residence, looking deeply sincere. "Qingqing, I was wrong. I'll never go to a brothel again!"
An Muqing (raising an eyebrow with her arms folded): "Oh? The headliner at the Zui Xian Brothel just sent someone to ask me when you're coming to redeem her."
Jiang Peizhi (eyes wide with shock): "...???" (It's over. The flames of this groveling chase just got even hotter!)
Theme: A woman need not depend on others. She can make her own place in the world through her own abilities.
