The General's Lard Pancake

Her name was Zhao Wuniang. She slaughtered pigs and sold flatbreads in the western market.

The Prince of Zhennan kicked over her stall and sneered, “Such vulgar fare.”

Later, when he was gravely wounded and near death, she squatted beside his bed and held out a flatbread. “Your Highness, would you like me to feed you a bite?”

He weakly grabbed her wrist, but his eyes lit up.

“Could... could I have a bowl of pig's blood soup, too?”

With her skills at raising and slaughtering pigs, she saved the sharpest blade of the dynasty.
