I Set Out to Rescue Women in Trouble, but My Target Seems Willing

The interstellar stage is set. If you've got the guts, step right up.

-

At the Luobobo charity gala, Zhou Yan'an sees a group of mechanized soldiers being auctioned off to the highest bidder. They're dusty and road-worn, their tactical vests covering heavily mechanized bodies. Their eyes are fierce, and they look ready to spring into action.

They're clearly a pack of restless beasts, yet they lower their heads in silence, praying that someone will buy their service rights so they can obtain citizenship and escape the fate of fighting on the front lines.

-

Zhou Yan'an isn't interested in mechanized soldiers, but he's interested in Ling Chan.

Of the whole group, only Ling Chan has a calm, indifferent face. While the other mechanized soldiers lift their heads to present themselves to the guests, he silently avoids everyone's gaze and stares into space in a corner, like a lone wolf fallen on hard times.

-

The sight looks strangely familiar. Zhou Yan'an says, “I feel like I've seen him somewhere before.”

His friend beside him laughs and teases, “Well, I'll be. That's an old line. Never thought you'd be the type who likes rescuing fallen women.”

-

Zhou Yan'an, who enjoys rescuing fallen women, pays the ransom and signs the contract. Just as he's about to take ownership of Ling Chan's service rights, the agency delivers bad news.

“Sir, he refused.”

“Refused?”

“Lieutenant Ling Chan says he enlisted willingly.”

“???”

-

One moment: A rescuer with a hidden agenda X someone who refuses to be rescued.

The next: The banquet hall explodes, and he grabs the other's hand.

-

At first, Zhou Yan'an only wanted to give Ling Chan a hand.

Later, he wanted to create a new world for him.
