He has no horns yet, and his tail is short. Dressed in tattered clothes, he stares at Wen Xi through the screen. When Wen Xi responds to his greeting, his pupils turn into little hearts. Wen Xi: It doesn’t seem all that pornographic after all. Wen Xi turns the porn game into a virtual-pet simulator, spending a fortune and a great deal of time and effort raising the little succubus. According to the game, he has to help the succubus adapt to human society. Following the instructions, Wen Xi sends him to learn human language. The little succubus leaves at dawn every day and comes home at dusk with his backpack on, hardworking and eager to learn. But when he brings home his midterm exam later on, it’s a score of three out of a hundred and fifty. Wen Xi sees black and nearly faints. It’s over. He’s raised an idiot. The little succubus’s eyes are as swollen as egg blossoms from crying. He asks miserably, “Polin, ydu natie se?” Translated, it means, “Human, will you not want me anymore?” Wen Xi: … Well, he’s already raised him this far. He’ll accept that he’s an idiot. Blurb Three: When the little succubus reaches maturity, he sends Wen Xi a contract-bond invitation. In a daze, Wen Xi clicks “Accept.” That night, he dreams of a man. The man is exactly his type. In a corner where no one can see, Fei Sinian’s phone lights up with a message from his boyfriend. Shi Chengen: Hubby, it’s getting cold. I bought two pairs of long johns from a livestream, one for you and one for me. They were only 99! Fei Sinian: Mm. Hubby will reimburse you. Shi Chengen: Hubby, I also saw a bag… Fei Sinian: Hubby will reimburse you. Shi Chengen even thinks of him when buying long johns. Sometimes he’s dining at an upscale restaurant; sometimes he’s sharing a night view of the Meizhu River, with his location tagged at a luxury residential complex worth tens of millions. People online say his photos are edited, or that he’s a security guard at the luxury complex. Shi Chengen: You’re killing me. Do I need to edit a photo of a meal? Shi Chengen: This is just one of my husband’s houses. Someone asks why he never posts his husband. He falls silent. He thinks Fei Sinian might just be playing around, and he doesn’t dare post him online. Then one day, Fei Sinian discovers his secondary account.
