But just as he'd settled in somewhere, a delicate, beautiful young man with tearful eyes stumbled toward him. Yan Yushu dodged lightly, and the young man landed on the ground.

"Waaah..." The young man, with a face like the Goddess of Mercy, wiped away his tears with a handkerchief, but couldn't resist peeking at Yan Yushu with one eye. "My leg hurts so much!"

He wept like a pear blossom in the rain, and even his collar had loosened a little.

Yan Yushu had never met a young man like this before. He was shocked, but also found it utterly novel, and couldn't resist teasing him again and again.

He watched the young man go from shy to annoyed, while his own clever schemes somehow never quite worked out.

At first, he had only found him amusing. But the more he saw him, the more he liked him, so he simply kept the young man by his side, teasing and protecting him.

Hua Zhujin had several great grievances in life: his useless father, and the fact that he had been born into the wrong family. He didn't want to keep living as he had before. After nursing one grudge after another, he made up his mind to climb into wealth and power.

[The political scheming is amateurish and takes up very, very, very little of the story. This is a work where I let myself go, sometimes taking off and sometimes landing. The System plays a small part. There's a reading guide in the author's note of chapter one.]
