A playful, slightly unhinged older woman who stays cool under pressure x a precocious, highly intelligent younger woman with a dark, scheming heart
Early cultivation + military academy teacher and student; the rivalry kicks in midway
[Blurb]
Ruan Xun transmigrates into a space-opera novel. The leader of a band of space pirates becomes a cannon-fodder general in the story, serving as an instructor at the military academy attended by the protagonist.
According to the plot, when she discovers the protagonist is plotting a rebellion, Huo Qianyi will swiftly kill her off.
The good news: The protagonist is only thirteen, on the brink of death and waiting for someone to rescue her.
The bad news: Ruan Xun's mental powers are damaged, and she has already become a pawn the Alliance has discarded.
The even worse news: The System still wants her to help the protagonist conquer the stars.
Surrounded by wolves and caught in a web of undercurrents, the protagonist's talent suddenly emerges, making her a tree that draws every eye.
Ruan Xun: (thinks it over briefly) (gets an idea) (pulls out a notebook and starts assigning everyone a role)
To the protagonist, who is wavering between the major factions:
Ruan Xun: Come here. I'll teach you how to stir things up.

Plans never keep pace with change. The process goes wrong, but the outcome is right. One way or another, the protagonist conquers it all.
The night before the conquest, Ruan Xun stumbles out of her room in a daze, wiping her lips. When she discovers she's earned enough points, she promptly fakes her death.
A month after leaving that world, Ruan Xun is enjoying her wonderful life as a space pirate when the ground suddenly shakes and the sky splits apart. The long-absent System appears again, trembling as it speaks:
"We're doomed, Host! Your world has merged with the protagonist's world!"
Ruan Xun: "Huh? What the heck?"
-
The first time she saw Huo Qianyi, Ruan Xun thought her eyes could draw people in.
Even later, when those obsidian eyes brimmed with tears, turning dewy, dark, and tender, the look she gave Ruan Xun wasn't a plea for love. It was possessive, with the certainty of someone who would get what she wanted:
Run away? Don't even think about it.
- Little scene:
"...Huo Qianyi, how many times have I told you not to use mental control on me?"
The boy's fingertips brushed the moisture from her lips. Her dark eyes curved as she smiled. "Then do you know what suggestion I planted in your mind?"
"I said, 'Ruan Xun, the Huo Qianyi in front of you is helpless to resist. You can do whatever you want to her.'"
"You were the one who kissed me first."
I've posted some character art on Weibo. You can find it at @BujiangdaoliHeTaDePengyoumen
- P.S.:
Plot-driven, with a slow-burn romance. It opens when they're 30 and 13. Enjoy an older-woman-younger-woman dynamic and a nontraditional mentor-and-student setup.
The younger woman is basically a minor in the early chapters. The romance begins after she comes of age.
The characters aren't paragons of goodness. They're fairly restrained at first, but later they stop pretending.
An ensemble cast. Most characters aren't purely good or evil; they are enemies because their positions differ.
Set in a futuristic spacefaring world. Menstruation occurs once every season, and the uterine lining is reabsorbed within the body rather than shed. Average life expectancy is over 200, with an exceptionally long prime and a greatly slowed aging process.
I changed some words. Yes, that's right, I'm Cang Jie reborn in the modern age.
