When Shen Xiyan woke up, he found himself sitting quietly on a coach headed for an unfamiliar village, hugging his backpack. He stared at the suddenly panicked passengers around him, his mind completely blank.

Who was he? The tag on his backpack had his name on it.

What was he doing? The chat history on his phone said he was going home to visit his hometown.

Where was he going? The tour guide greeted him warmly as a fellow local, then enthusiastically introduced Waichang Village's customs and traditions to all the passengers.

Something was wrong... Shen Xiyan stared at the screen of his phone, filled with doubt. But the more he thought about it, the more his head hurt...

“Yan, don't overthink it.” The male passenger sitting beside him suddenly spoke up to stop him. “I'm here.”

“But who are you?” Shen Xiyan asked, bewildered.

He didn't know the man, yet for some reason, seeing him made Shen Xiyan feel at ease.

Feng Yi had never imagined that while he was away on a business trip, his beloved would get caught up in a horror-game instance while on a group tour abroad. He knew how cruel horror games could be, and he also knew his beloved was an ordinary person, weak and defenseless.

He was delicate and timid, unable to say no to people, but had an exceptionally exquisite, beautiful face.

Overcome with worry, Feng Yi hurried to the place where his beloved had gone missing. But what he found was even more unexpected: his beloved had somehow become an NPC in a horror game and lost his memories.

And now he was smiling as he flirted with passing ghosts and monsters.

Feng Yi: ...Uh.

P.S. “A trip abroad” means the story is set overseas, and the writing style leans toward Japanese-style COC light novels.

Theme: Happiness is gold dust lying at the bottom of a river of sorrow
