The Stuttering Little Parrot

After Duoduo started primary school, she was unhappy most of the time.

She realized she wasn't quite like her classmates. It was hard for her to get a whole sentence out in one breath, and she always spoke very slowly.

Her mother said it was a stutter and that it needed treatment, but hearing that only made Duoduo feel more ashamed of herself.

Then one day, her father brought home an adorable monk parakeet from the bird and flower market.

The little parrot was chubby and looked a bit goofy. Its feathers on its back and wings were a beautiful sky blue, while the down on its chest and legs was white. Its tiny eyes looked especially bright.

It also had a slightly pointed, hooked beak. The little bird opened and closed its beak, and out came a voice: "Hello, Duoduo."

Duoduo's mouth fell open in surprise. This parrot could actually talk!

From then on, many things in Duoduo's life began to change.
