"Who are you?"

"I'm you."

The man gently lifted the boy's chin. His deep eyes reflected nothing but another version of himself.

Then he leaned down and gently kissed his past self.

That day, An Xiaofan stood disheveled in front of the full-length mirror in the bathroom.

Looking at his naked reflection, he wore a twisted, cold smile for the first time.

His eyes were filled with despair, and his hands wouldn't stop trembling.

But in the next moment, his reflection began to move.

The version in the mirror dropped the knife and gave him a faint smile, gentle yet a little wicked.

Through the thin pane of glass, his reflection tried to touch his face, his lips, and his body.

"Don't cry, An Xiaofan."

"I love you, too..."

The reflection's voice was low and captivating. As he spoke into the ear of the person on the other side of the mirror, it sounded like a soft, coaxing whisper.

From that day on,

An Xiaofan seemed hopelessly infatuated with... his other self in the mirror.

An Rongbai said that the world was one enormous abyss, and everyone alive was struggling to escape it.

But the moment you place any hopes or demands on people or things outside yourself,

you are tying the rope that could pull you out of the abyss to someone else trapped within it.

An Xiaofan asked, "What if I fall in love with you?"

An Rongbai was silent for a moment, then gave a relaxed, languid smile. "I'm different, because I'm you."

A few friendly reminders:

1. This is an angsty story.

2. The plot in Volume One may make your blood pressure soar. If you have strong nerves, you can read it all in one go. If it leaves you fuming, feel free to discuss the plot and characters in the comments. Please don't direct attacks at the author.

3. Starting with Volume Two, things will calm down. The protagonist's personality will change and develop, and the reason behind everything will be explained later.
