Synopsis

Qing Zhuxi is a speedrunner.

Before transmigrating into the classic manga Dream of Nine Thousand Deaths, he had been speedrunning the ARPG adaptation of the franchise.

Speedrunning, as the name suggests, means seeing who can finish a game fastest under the same conditions.

After botching the fight against the final boss before his personal best, Qing Zhuxi blacked out in a rage-fueled, red-faced fit and transmigrated.

The good news: He didn't seem to have died suddenly, but had transmigrated into the world of the manga. The bad news: His SpeedRun leaderboard had come along with him.

Dream of Nine Thousand Deaths is a classic, time-tested shonen manga. Its protagonist, Yu Nianyao, is the childhood hero of nearly three generations.

But Yu Nianyao doesn't know that.

He has lost count of how many times he has woken up at the beginning of the story.

Time in this world seems to have stopped after he defeated the Lord of Nightmare. No matter what he does, even if he tries to die, everything starts over again after the story ends or he dies.

After one loop after another, Yu Nianyao has even begun to give up on himself.

Until a guy named Qing Zhuxi barges into his world.

Qing Zhuxi is an idiot who can't understand plain speech and is even kind of infuriating.

But in this looping world, Qing Zhuxi is the one and only variable.
