Originally intended as a hot-blooded shonen manga, it attracted plenty of readers at first with its warm-hearted protagonist, nuanced emotional expression, and handsome art style. Then the author started pulling all sorts of stunts. Because face-slapping power fantasies were in fashion, Liuhua Qi was forced to lose his powers, just so he could prove that “a poor boy is not to be despised.” Because tragic, beautiful, powerful characters were in fashion, Liuhua Qi’s happy family was forced to become a sacrifice to the clan’s ambitions, and he became a vessel for an evil god. Because villainous protagonists were in fashion, Liuhua Qi started killing people for no reason, even his closest teammates. Because healing stories and dual male leads were in fashion, the second male lead, the protagonist’s moonlight, suddenly appeared and got caught up in a nonsensical “he runs, he chases” romance with Liuhua Qi. By that point, who even remembered this was supposed to be a hot-blooded shonen manga? Even the author couldn’t keep drawing it and had no idea how to end it. So he decided to go all in: he killed off the second male lead, made Liuhua Qi go dark, and had him destroy the world after killing everyone he knew. And so the decade-long disaster of a series came to an end. As one “faithful” reader put it: “This crap is so disgusting even a dog would turn its nose up at it. I want to beat the author until he can’t tell north from south.” Xi Siling: ...I’m a historian. This is history. So the world’s consciousness, unwilling to let the world be destroyed like this, appealed to the [Shonen Manga System] from a higher plane and asked it to find someone to save the world. Xi Siling: I’m supposed to fight Liuhua Qi? Seriously? Shonen Manga System: You can win. There was no other choice but to find him, since Xi Siling was the only character in the comic who had a name and was still alive. “Keep at it, kid!
