As a special crossover between Gintama and The Prince of Tennis, the Gintama cast has landed on the Prince of Tennis set. Taking on different roles, they're about to begin a tennis story with a Gintama flavor.
Gin: (Click) (Snap) "Writing the plot ourselves is fun."
*
At the start of the storyline.
Gintoki: "Haha! As the only JUMP protagonist here, the final victory is definitely mine! You guys are still a long way off!"
14: "How unusual. A Madao uncle who's almost thirty is cosplaying as a middle schooler. Maybe you should retire with the high school cast instead."
Sougo: "To be more direct, Boss, you should go to the World Tournament set and be a behind-the-scenes boss who walks a dog. It'd make you look imposing, there'd be no fight scenes, and you'd attract fans. Oh, and your hair color matches too."
Gintoki: "Then I'd barely get any screen time! That's not how it works for a JUMP protagonist!"
*
In a match against people cosplaying as Seigaku characters.
The Yato boy with a little braid swept his umbrella, and the tennis ball smashed into the ground, kicking up a mushroom-shaped cloud.
Gintoki: "Hey, hey, how come Kamui's only similarity to Fuji is that he occasionally narrows his eyes? Don't hit people in the face with a tennis ball! We're not even at the U-17 timeline yet!"
Shinpachi: "Isn't the most outrageous part that he's playing tennis with an umbrella?!"
Kagura: "But Yamazaki's been playing tennis with a badminton racket this whole time, aru."
The next second, the Yato girl rushed onto the court with her umbrella.
Kagura: "Onii-chan, don't blame me for what happens next!"
Gintoki: "No, no, you've got the wrong script! Wasn't this supposed to be the Hyotei versus Seigaku script, with Hyotei winning? How did it suddenly turn into a St. Rudolph versus Seigaku storyline? Get the plot back on track!"
Shinpachi: "You're the one changing the script! Show some respect for Takeshi Konomi! Oh, he's gone crazy too? Then never mind."
Gintoki: "As the protagonist team, we're going to keep our golden fingers active the whole time and take out every enemy in our way! Right, strategist?"
Shinpachi: "How did this turn into a Rikkai storyline now?!"
Gintoki: "Then I'll slick back my hair and cosplay as Akutsu. Let's do an underdog comeback story where a supporting character defeats the protagonist!"
Shinpachi: "Gin, you're stealing the pen and rewriting the script again! At least make me look handsome. The art style from the Eternal Version will do."
*
At last, they reach the U-17 set.
A mechanical girl stands holding a mop that can fire cannonballs. Behind the Idiot Prince is a crowd of cute guys, each handsome in his own way. The proprietress of Sen'ō Village is surrounded by Stand users of every kind. A huge, terrifying green creature with flowers growing on its head cradles a flowerpot...
"This isn't the U-17 set anymore. It's Tales of the Unusual!!!"
This is a fight to the death, right? It has to be!
The Shinsengumi First Division Captain, who had blasted away the real Madao coach with a cannon and put on the head coach's secret identity, stands atop a mountain. With one foot on a defeated loser bent over with his face to the ground, he flashes an utterly sadistic smile. "Everyone ready? Welcome to U-17 (crossed out), the training camp you can't leave unless you [noun] [verb]."
He hefts the cannon.
"Boom!"
* A goofy, fun story in the style of Gintama. Nobody actually dies playing tennis, right?
* Loads of Prince of Tennis references, but the princes have no real roles and appear at most in dialogue. Lots of parody, too.
* Characters from other anime will show up. Exactly who appears depends on the author's mental state that day.
