A Stunning Beauty Arrives at the Electrical Appliance Factory [The 1980s]

Xu Leyi is a sweet young woman, with dewy almond eyes, dimples that seem to hold honey, and a soft Wu dialect that could melt anyone's bones.

Who could have guessed that beneath her delicate, tofu-soft appearance was the soul of a technical expert, carrying knowledge accumulated over two lifetimes?

The aviation electrical factory was on the verge of bankruptcy, with thousands of workers depending on it for their livelihoods. They specifically asked for Expert Xu to come and save the day. The research institute's leaders were worried. "The conditions there are harsh..."

Xu Leyi said sweetly, "It's my duty to serve the people."

But inside, she was wailing: [I'm doomed!]

Chen Zhihui was known for his iron-fisted approach. He took charge of the aviation factory's mess, with only one request: bring Xu Leyi in.

He went to the airport to meet her. When he saw a delicate young woman, he wondered if there'd been a mistake. Then he heard a soft, sweet voice: [So this is the stone-faced guy?]

Chen Zhihui: "?"

It wasn't until she pointed with a slender finger and gently said, "The capacitor's burnt out," while the little person in her heart stood with hands on hips and cursed, [You idiots! You've connected the wires backwards three times!] that he understood.

Looking at the repaired color TV, Chen Zhihui quietly put away the phone he'd been about to use to call his superior.

But this young woman's inner voice was so noisy: [The boiler room is so far away, and the thermos is so heavy.]

Early the next morning, he brought hot water to the expert.

[This scorching sun is going to melt me, waah!]

From then on, the factory gained a curious new sight: every day at noon, Director Chen waited for Expert Xu with an umbrella.

[Overtime. I'm so hungry...]

Late at night, the tough guy in an apron busied himself at the stove.

At first, Chen Zhihui wanted this young lady to finish teaching the technical skills and leave as soon as possible. Later on,

[The stone-faced guy looks pretty handsome in a tank top. What a shame I've never seen him in swim trunks...]

The next day, Chen Zhihui asked her, "Want to go to a hot spring resort?"

Xu Leyi: "?"
