After the Ex-Wife of a Powerful Man in a Period Novel Awakens

Chen Jiamin was the only daughter of the director of a machinery factory in Shanghai. After graduating from university, she returned to the factory and married Xu Heping, a promising young man her father had chosen for her. After the wedding, her father devoted himself to grooming his son-in-law, while she devoted herself to being Xu Heping's supportive wife. Her father-in-law fell ill and needed a doctor, her younger brother-in-law graduated from technical school and needed a job, and her younger sister-in-law wanted to come to the city to study… So Xu Heping could focus on his work, she took it all on herself. It wasn't until she took a fall that she realized she was the ex-wife in a period novel whose sole purpose was to hold back the ambitious male lead. In the book, her father-in-law died of cancer, and she was blamed for not caring enough; her brother-in-law was fired from the factory, and she was told the job she'd found him was no good; she asked her sister-in-law, who was attending university, to wash the dishes, and was resented for being harsh… All of it became evidence of her incompetence and a source of endless frustration for everyone around her. When Xu Heping became successful enough to afford a housekeeper, she became a woman who couldn't keep up with him, had no ability, and loved making a fuss for no reason, and who deserved to be abandoned. In the end, Xu Heping married a dazzling, charming, radiant rich beauty who understood him perfectly. Meanwhile, after making a scene at her ex-husband's wedding, Chen Jiamin was sent to a psychiatric hospital. Chen Jiamin: Pah! Theme: Wealth is created with your own hands.
