Yan Ye's empty gland was like a trash can made just for Huo Wei, somewhere he could dump his violent pheromones and get rid of them.

Huo Wei was paying far too much. Yan Ye agreed.

But their supposedly straightforward deal gradually changed. It went from his gland to his regressed reproductive tract, and the vicious Alpha poured his rampaging pheromones into Yan Ye over and over again. Even when Yan Ye couldn't take any more, he wouldn't stop.

Yan Ye tried to resist, but every time the Alpha finished, he would hold him tenderly, kiss him, and stroke his head. Yan Ye would obediently put his fangs away.

He knew someone like him shouldn't yearn for the occasional tenderness Huo Wei deigned to show him, but he still couldn't stop himself from harboring a sliver of hope.

One day, Yan Ye took a temporary job at the aristocratic school next door, filling in for a school custodian who was on leave and taking out the trash.

The well-dressed young masters looked down at him with disgust. Someone said, "Look at that garbage collector. He's just like a dog."

Yan Ye clenched his fists in anger, then suddenly spotted Huo Wei among them. The boy sat on a second-floor windowsill, head tilted, and glanced down at him indifferently.

He heard the boy say, "Yeah. He really is."

Yan Ye suddenly understood that to Huo Wei, he was nothing more than a dog who would come when called and be sent away when unwanted.

Huo Wei made a deal with a defective Omega. The Omega looked fierce, but he was obedient, listened to Huo Wei, and was useful.

Huo Wei thought the leash restraining him would stay in his hands forever. But one day, the Omega broke free and ran away.

When they met again, Huo Wei saw Yan Ye, now a grown man, go home with someone else. He had never seen Yan Ye smile so brightly.

At the landing of the stairwell, Huo Wei gripped the railing so hard he bent it out of shape.

Later, he stopped Yan Ye and quietly begged him to come back. But the person who once had eyes only for him replied coldly:

"Come back and keep being Young Master Huo's loyal dog?"

"I don't want to."

Notes:

1. HE, both are each other's first and only partner, and the Omega does not become a Beta.

2. Vicious, possessive, high-energy Alpha gong x slightly cocky shou. The shou is three years older than the gong. They attend different schools, and both are fourth-years (a fictional interstellar setting, comparable to college).

3. The gong is genuinely vicious, and has some mental problems early on. He's not a perfect character (I've always wanted to write someone imperfect~).

4. A mild groveling arc, bittersweet and sweet, but mostly sweet, sweet, sweet. The author simply can't write angst.
