The Vongola Chronicles

The First Vongola Boss has always been the greatest mystery of the underworld. Giotto only knew that the other man was the one chosen. He had saved the world and ended the Rainbow Children’s sacrifices, but disappeared within a few years and was presumed dead. He hadn't lived to see his twenty-fourth birthday. Later, when the Second Boss, XANXUS, took power, he sealed away everything related to the First, forbidding anyone from even mentioning him. This was the turning point. The team of outside advisors founded by the First Boss's teacher began to drift away from the Vongola, keeping up appearances while growing estranged. The Cloud Guardian left, and the Mist Guardian betrayed them. Then the Millefiore and Simon families each withdrew from the alliance in their own devastating ways. The Vongola swiftly went from ruling the underworld as the undisputed power among many to returning to its proper place. More than a century had passed since then. When the young Lambo, the Tenth Generation's Lightning Guardian, was forced to study Vongola history, he delivered this scathing assessment: “The way these people acted after the Boss died wasn't a coup. It was like they were a bunch of widows who'd developed PTSD.” Giotto was a little shocked by the remark, but after thinking it over, he realized he couldn't argue with it. “It's such a shame. I really wish I could meet that ancestor of mine... Arnold, don't you want to see the legendary First Generation Cloud Guardian, who looks just like you and even has the same name?” “No. It has nothing to do with me,” Arnold said. When he joined the Vongola family, he'd made it clear that he was a spy sent by a national intelligence agency in the outside world. The Vongola could take him or leave him. Sometimes Giotto wanted to ask, Do spies always announce themselves so openly? Was the next thing he'd say going to be, “Don't flatter yourselves. I joined the Vongola to destroy the mafia family”? But Arnold really was diligent. He kept his identity separate and fulfilled every duty expected of a Cloud Guardian. Besides, Giotto had no other Cloud Guardian besides Arnold. The alternatives were in a whole different league. After weighing the pros and cons, Giotto had no choice but to put up with him. The other person who'd been dragged into the role was the living legend before him. “Nufufu... How disgusting.” Damon lounged on a soft leather sofa with one leg crossed over the other, sipping wine as he pointed out the flaws in the incomplete history of the Vongola. “Going mad and destroying the world over someone who's already dead? Do you have to make it such a trashy soap opera? What did he think his Boss was, the light of his life? Isn't that a bit too sappy?” “I'd advise you to choose your words carefully,” Giotto said. “Do you know why the First's name was never passed down? According to the story, the First Mist Guardian, who held a grudge against everyone, cursed the name when he betrayed the family. Anyone who spoke it aloud would die a mysterious and gruesome death the very next day. Of course, I know you don't care about that. So let me tell you this: he might still be alive.” Damon stopped smiling. He warned Giotto, “You Vongola boys are a bunch of devious gay men. Stay away from me.” Giotto sighed deeply, propped his chin on his hand, and said with a hint of melancholy, “I was just thinking that if the First were still around, if he could have lived a little longer, the world might have turned out very differently.” “I miss him so much. Even though we've never met, is this the power of blood? Just a few surviving words are enough to make me feel close to him, drawn to him, and long for him...” Damon took a step back, shuddering with goosebumps. His look said it plainly: And you say you're not gay? “Fine, fine. I am, I am,” Giotto said, raising both hands in surrender. “Honestly, what a bunch of weirdos. You can't talk to them at all. I'm going to see the child I just picked up. G should have brought him back from the hospital by now. Ah, Tsunayoshi really is so good to me. I can't get over how sweet and adorable he is.” “Anyway, the succession ceremony begins in seven days. I hope nothing goes wrong when we summon the First Generation Guardians' Heroic Spirits and the Second Generation Heroic Spirit corresponding to the Sky.” Reader's guide: ① About the setting An AU where the Tenth and First Generations switch places. The timeline spans a hundred years, with two interwoven storylines. The world is based on 2004, with 2024-level technology. It goes against the Simon arc and the (anime) inheritance arc, and includes some unconventional viewing content. Special note: Everyone in the 27 group is given a Western nationality, but their names retain a Japanese style. 27 is Italian-Japanese mixed race, and this is a fictional work with no connection to real life. ② About the relationships Told from Giotto's perspective, centered on 27. Includes some 27-centered friendship content and no romantic storyline. However, since Giotto and 27 are blood relatives, there are an excessive number of unofficial stories, as well as some family affection between G and 27. A heads-up about these elements.
