Tsuna Is Number One at Volleyball Too

“I'm such a good-for-nothing, I can't play volleyball!”

Because he was such a good-for-nothing, little Tsunayoshi had no friends. Then a new neighbor moved in, with bright orange hair that shone like the sun and a cheerful, lively personality.

Most importantly, he didn't mind that little Tsunayoshi was already in fourth grade and still couldn't ride a bike!

Little Tsunayoshi was thrilled to finally have a friend, even if his new friend seemed to love volleyball. His new friend even invited him to play.

Tsunayoshi, who tripped over flat ground every day and couldn't do anything right: “I'm really going to hold you back, you know.”

The little orange said with a radiant smile, “Actually, I can't play volleyball at all either, haha!”

The little sun thought his childhood friend wouldn't keep playing volleyball. After all, during one summer in middle school, the other boy had suddenly become the heir to an Italian family. But then his tutor sent him to Karasuno, supposedly to gain experience.

The Spartan tutor: “If you don't win the championship, you can die.”

The little orange: Your childhood friend's tutor sure has a sense of humor.

Little Tsunayoshi: No, he's serious about killing me! Aaaah!

The story of two terrible players is about to begin.

Short but nimble Hinata and uncoordinated but sharp-witted Sawada join forces, two little angels striving for the highest stage in the country.

Content warning:

The author ships all27, so the Namimori characters are all paired with Tsuna, but there's no explicit pairing in the main story. Pairing side stories are included. The Haikyuu!! side focuses on Hinata, with platonic affection.

Second round: the pairing side story is confirmed to be with Shouichi. The Miracle Generation is making big gains!

Also, there are no other side pairings! The Namimori cast and the volleyball cast share friendship and familial bonds. The author is an unconditional supporter of Tsunayoshi and Hinata. Please don't project the author's behavior onto the original characters. They're all wonderful.

Only Tsunayoshi will play volleyball. Nobody else from the 27 side will participate, or they could make a whole volleyball team just with their numbers, plus two managers.

This is my first attempt at writing a long story, and my writing isn't great, so please accept this offering (kneels). Also, I'm sensitive, so please don't give me writing advice. If you can't get into it, don't force yourself. It'll be better for all of us!

Timeline: Elementary school (the little sun and little Tsunayoshi's bumpy journey as beginners) - Middle school (the little sun returns to Miyagi Prefecture, while Tsunayoshi deals with the mafia plot) - High school (Tsunayoshi is sent to Karasuno and competes alongside the little sun).

In other words, let's keep the little sun out of the mafia plot. Uh, let's just skip that part of 27's story (looks away).

In the original story, the little sun should see the Little Giant play in his final year of elementary school. I changed that detail for this story because I personally want to see the little sun improve at volleyball from childhood.

Theme: Everything in my past is fuel for moving forward
