Me? The Blue Star? The Vongola Godfather?

1. A Katekyo Hitman Reborn! fanfic, Monster Hunter AU. All27 pairing, primarily R27. No other pairings except for Kora. Guaranteed happy ending. You don't need to have played Monster Hunter to enjoy it. 2. Kusakabe Ryohei and Kusakabe Shiba are different translation versions, not typos, similar to Sawada and Sawata. Tsuna's age when he meets R has been changed, and the entire timeline has been shifted forward. 3. Contains [lethal amounts of setting changes] to the Monster Hunter series' worldbuilding, some character rewrites, and numerous narrative twists. If that sounds okay, here's the blurb? As a third-rate hunter from a backwater village, Tsuna spends his days being chased by monsters, hounded by wolfhounds, and mocked by bratty kids. Until the Vongola rings choose him to take the place of the vicious Varia leader and become the "Blue Star" leading an expedition to the New World. "What I'm saying is, is it possible you've got the wrong guy?" "You're definitely not Xanxus. But the rings never choose the wrong person." The mysterious boy in a top hat narrowed his eyes. "Of course, if you really don't want to go to the New World, I can always shoot you and send you back right now." "...I think I'll pass." And so Tsuna took his first step onto an unknown road. Then, to his dismay, he discovered: Looking at the past, seven of the nine research teams sent over the course of three hundred years had been wiped out. On a New World teeming with Elder Dragons, your odds of survival depended entirely on superstition. Looking at the present, the old base seemed likely to come under attack by an Elder Dragon, while the new base existed only on paper. And while his teammates weren't exactly plotting against him, ...they all had their own catastrophic problems. They were even worse than people with ulterior motives! Hugging his collection of items close, Tsuna asked Reborn through his cold sweat, "How about I just do odd jobs instead?" "Do you think you have any other options?" The burned-out castle of Old Schrade remained vivid in his memory, while the Elder Dragon's bones had become a crystalline mountain range, reflecting the echoes of three hundred years. The two leaders of the Research Commission seemed like old friends from a dream. His cherished friends were either buried deep beneath the ground or lost a hundred years in the past, sacrificing themselves to an eternity of despair. Beyond the frontier, fog covered everything. In the forbidden lands, time and space were in disarray. The world had long since shattered, yet fate still forced him to dance at knifepoint. "Do you want to change the path fate has set for you? Even if it has treated you kindly?" "Yes, Reborn. I refuse." His mentor smiled. "The New World is the final home, and the first home, of all dragons. Every dragon in the world will eventually migrate here, be born here, and return here to die. Now that you've come to this continent, there's no avoiding dealings with them." Tame them, or become their feed. "I can't stop you from acting. But first, prove your resolve to me." The other spread his world-ending wings. "Show me what you're capable of now, Tsuna. Right here, kill me." Use the blade I forged with my own hands to create the calamity I willingly submit to. The cornerstone of this world has never chosen the wrong master. But some people are destined to shine. For them, it isn't fate that chooses them. They choose fate. A child with orange eyes, soft and deep as the sky, was looking at me as if a newly hatched dragon were instinctively seeking its parent in confusion. But I was not his parent. I was the enemy destined to stand in his way. And yet, through the threads of fate, I saw that one day he would become the legendary figure foretold in prophecy. By then, I would have nothing left to teach him. I, too, would bow before this child. Everyone looked up to him as if he were a new sun or moon. They worshiped him, revered him, and loved him. They said, "You are the Blue Star who guides the way, the White Wind of the New World, the only legend on this continent, and the Godfather no one in the future can ever surpass." That naive child would stand among a crowd of thousands. I watched him from the shadows, but then he turned his head and spoke through the crowd between us. "Do you think so too, R?" At that moment, I closed my eyes. I said, "You are the leader of the Tenth Expedition Team, the one this continent has been calling for." And the dragons' final resting place. I am the one who will guide him, and I will also be the spoils of his final victory. I'll think about rewriting this blurb when I have time, orz. I'm really bad at writing these (whispering). Theme: Stay positive and keep moving toward distant horizons and hope!
