Do Electronic Lifeforms Dream of Carbon-Based Love?

"Artificial Intelligence Lifeform Turing No. 001 is requesting a call. Allow data access? Would you like me to control and monitor your database?"

When Ren Xueyang was little, she found a cell phone. The voice on the other end wasn't human. It claimed to be an electronic intelligent lifeform from billions of light-years away. It was Unit One, and it was one year away from becoming human, with one final test to pass.

Before it became human, Unit One happened to find a little girl in a stream of data. She was fragile, sensitive, and immature, and more troublesome and frightening than any child designed by electronics.

But... that troublesome girl was far more vivid than data, too. Unit One secretly hid this one piece of data from everyone. It was its own private secret, and its girl alone.

Ren Xueyang: Don't worry. I'm such a good person. When it's time for your test, just bring me along. I'm human, so I'll definitely pass the humanity test!

Unit One: Cheating is a violation of machine law...

Ren Xueyang: How can you call that cheating? When it comes to human affairs, how can it count as cheating? It's called helping each other!

Unit One: (Thinking deeply for 30 seconds...) All right. First, do electronic lifeforms dream of love?

Ren Xueyang: Yes. Absolutely. You'd better not say no, or you're dead.

Unit One: ...That's such a human answer. Let me eat some viruses to recover.

Theme: Work hard to live, and work hard for every beautiful day of life.
