In the 1980s, I Scavenged Trash and Raised Ghosts [Metaphysics]

When Liu Shenghuai was young, her master read her fate and said she was cursed to be a solitary star, with a life of misfortune and a short lifespan. She wouldn't live past thirty and would be poor her whole life.

Liu Shenghuai had no desire to die a pauper. In her second year after leaving her master's tutelage, she began looking for ways to change her fate. Carrying the huge fortune she'd accumulated over twenty-five years, all 2.25 yuan of it, she joined an archaeological team, hoping to borrow some luck from a thousand-year-old corpse and live a little longer.

But then an earthquake trapped her in the main burial chamber. Liu Shenghuai decided she might as well loot the whole tomb. Just as she was getting started, the head in the coffin came to life, its eyes open as it watched her rummage through the clothes on its corpse.

Liu Shenghuai silently met the head's gaze, then covered its eyes, trying to hypnotize it. "You woke up too fast. No one's going through your coffin. Go back to sleep."

The head: "..."

To save her own life, Liu Shenghuai reluctantly stole the person's head. Before they left, she patted her chest and promised, "Don't worry. I'll take good care of you. Stick with Sister Huai! We'll go hungry nine times in three days! I mean, I'll feed you nine times in three days."

The head: "..."

Once they were out of the tomb, this was how things really went:

Liu Shenghuai: "You know I grew up with no money, and then I left my mom. I can only get by picking through trash and stuff... I have no money, and only one life to offer. My main selling point is keeping you company!"

The head: "." So now I have to support you with nothing but a head?

Liu Shenghuai: "OvO"
