[In progress. This is the next book I'll write.]
Xie Wanshuang, the heiress of the wealthiest family in the capital, suffers from severe insomnia. Famous doctors have declared that she won't live past eighteen.
Then, by a stroke of luck, she learns that finding the wanderer Tan Xue may give her a chance at survival.
To find him, Xie Wanshuang has repeatedly spent lavish sums just for the chance to meet him.
On the day the young man comes to meet her, his cool, indifferent eyes look her up and down before he slowly says, "Someone's paid to have you killed."
"Tell me, do you have any special requests?"
Xie Wanshuang bursts into tears of joy.
This young man is so kind! Not only is he willing to sacrifice himself, he's thoughtfully offering all sorts of services!
Without a second thought, Xie Wanshuang steps forward and wraps her arms around his waist. "When we go to bed later, could you take the initiative?"

Ling Chi is the fourth-ranked assassin of Chengying Tower, known throughout the martial world as Tan Xue.
The three most important things in his life are killing, sleeping, and raising Roubao.
But lately, an annoying young lady has been clinging to him.
In his eyes, Xie Wanshuang is lovesick for him, throwing herself into his arms all day long with no feminine modesty at all. Every so often, she even tries to win him over by throwing money at him.
He's an assassin with a backbone of steel. Even if he's short on money, how could he debase himself for it and… fall…
Unfortunately, he fell asleep again, failing to live up to his own resolve.
Even more unfortunate, the young lady got her way.
When he woke up, Xie Wanshuang had snuck onto his bed while he was asleep. Her lips were pressed to his cheek, her restless little hand was resting between his legs, and a faintly lascivious smile played across her face.
Ling Chi felt humiliated. He kicked her off the bed, drew his long sword, and held it to his own neck. "I'll die."
"You can't die." Xie Wanshuang wept with heartfelt sincerity. "You're my life. If you die, how am I supposed to go on?"
She really craved his body so badly that she'd become this desperate.
Ling Chi, usually so calm and collected, felt his reason teetering. For the first time, he looked at this audacious young lady and blushed to the tips of his ears.

When their eyes met, Ling Chi belatedly realized that his narcolepsy had eased.
He'd get paid and his illness might be cured. It was a deal with no downside.
For the sake of his health, he could put up with her advances. Halfheartedly, Ling Chi decided: sleep with her first, then kill her.
Until his sweet dream was shattered by a huge sack of money.
"This is compensation for you."
It sounded an awful lot like she was telling him to get lost.

Later on.
Rumor had it that Miss Xie had recently taken in a pretty young male companion and couldn't bear to let him out of her sight. The two of them spent all day shut away in a room, living through the night and sleeping through the day. The young man enjoyed all the benefits but still seemed extremely reluctant, crying and carrying on that he wanted to die. The more he fussed, the more Miss Xie doted on him and the more money she threw his way.
Ling Chi's eyes darkened. A chilling aura gathered around him as he tightened his grip on his sword and sneered.
So she'd found someone new.
That night, a man who tried to climb the wall into the Xie residence to win Miss Xie's favor was frightened off.
The young man kicked open the gates of the Xie residence, sword in hand, and laughed recklessly. "Seems like any stray cat or dog thinks they can set their sights on my young lady."
Xie Wanshuang trembled.
Why had her bed partner suddenly turned evil?
#Miss, sleep with me however you like. I won't charge you. I'll even pay you.
#I only wanted him to help cure my illness. How did I end up provoking an assassin from the martial world?
1. Ling Chi
2. A sweet romance with mutual devotion and a happy ending.
3. Roubao is a pet snow ferret.
