A Delusional Patient's Diary of Love

Chen Man gradually loses the ability to tell the world of novels from reality. Her parents' faces grow hazy, and she confuses her real past with the one she made up. Things in her book can even upset her enough to shave her head.

She chews her nails and hair, trying to obsess over these things until she can find a way out.

The torment of her emotions keeps her awake at night. But one morning, as she sets out to leave, she comes across Meng Jihuo, who seems to be "jumping into the river." She rushes over and wraps her arms around his waist, pulling him back in three quick steps.

Only when he turns around does she realize he was just out gathering material.

She knocks his phone to the ground, making an enemy of him. Later, as they get to know each other, she discovers he's also a junior who once admired her when she was "normal," leaving her with mixed feelings.

The two of them are like paints slowly bleeding into each other, gradually becoming part of one another's lives.

One night, beneath the lovely moonlight, Meng Jihuo turned to look into her eyes. "The first time I saw you, I thought you were amazing."

"?"

"You're really strong."

Chen Man laughed, and Meng Jihuo joined her. When they had laughed enough, Meng Jihuo grew serious and said earnestly, "Chen Man, you're a really good person."

Chen Man was silent for a long time before asking, "Can a good person have a mental illness?"

"The illness is what's wrong. The people who made you ill are what's wrong. It has nothing to do with you."

"Chen Man, I want to take care of you."

Meng Jihuo's earnest gaze moved Chen Man deeply. She didn't answer. She only placed a key gently in his palm.

The little copper key gleamed, like a second moon on the ground.

Chen Man always said that happiness was something she had imagined.

Meng Jihuo smiled gently and turned off her night-light. "It's really late. How about I prove your imagined happiness can come true when you wake up tomorrow?"
