Back to My Cat Butler's Youth

A strange new transfer student arrived in the class. He had golden-yellow hair, round eyes, and such dazzlingly pale skin that he looked like a mixed-race child model from a magazine. The only problem was his awful handwriting. He crookedly scribbled his name on the blackboard, and it looked like ancient oracle bone script. “Hello, everyone. My name is Jin Manman.” The transfer student wore a little backpack and walked straight to the last row. To everyone’s astonishment, he pulled out a chair and sat down beside the school bully. He didn’t move very loudly, but he still woke Shi Rang. Irritated, Shi Rang looked up, ready to blow up at him. But then he saw the transfer student looking at him with round eyes and a smile that revealed two dimples. “Can I sit here?” Damn! What a cutie. Shi Rang had always been ill-tempered and used to keeping to himself, but ever since the transfer student arrived, he’d stuck to Shi Rang like a little rice cake. He even waited outside the bathroom whenever Shi Rang went in. Shi Rang had to rush through every bathroom break, and he couldn’t even nap in class anymore. Every time he put his head down for more than five minutes, the transfer student would lean over and touch his nose. Murmuring, “Please don’t die, Shi Rang.” “…” . Manman was sent back ten years by the Animal Administration Bureau, with strict instructions never to turn back into his original form in front of humans. But the moment he saw Shi Rang, he couldn’t help wanting to turn back into a cat, curl up in Shi Rang’s arms, and lie on his back while Shi Rang rubbed his belly. Kitty swears! This time, he’ll protect his owner! He won’t let him die! *Bonus scene At a reunion after high school graduation, Manman said he was drunk and refused to let Shi Rang leave, insisting he had a surprise for him. In a dim corner, he grabbed Shi Rang’s hand and guided it toward his own backside. “Can you feel it?” Manman’s eyes shone, his voice full of anticipation. Shi Rang was dizzy, his tongue almost too tangled to speak. His heart pounded as if it were about to leap out of his throat. That was way too forward. He hadn’t even confessed yet. Maybe they should just get engaged tomorrow. What kind of matching rings should he buy? His mind went blank, and he blurted out, “I can feel it. It’s so soft.” And pretty perky. But why did it feel like it was covered in fur? He looked down. A soft, golden-yellow tail was in his hand. “You…” He opened his mouth, and the tail swished in his grasp. Shi Rang managed to ask, “Is it electric?” - Coming soon: Can We Still Get Married After Breaking Up? When Shen Xi was young, his parents were busy with their business, so he was practically raised by the older boy next door. Zhou Boyu was four years older. Call him “big brother,” but he was more like his dad. As a child, Shen Xi followed Zhou Boyu around like a little shadow, waiting for him to wipe his tears and patiently cuddle him until he calmed down. When he got older, he would skip class early and wait outside Zhou Boyu’s classroom. Whenever he got caught, Zhou Boyu would grab him by the ear and drag him home for a scolding. There seemed to be an unspoken rule between them. Zhou Boyu would always be good to him. So right after high school, Shen Xi climbed into Zhou Boyu’s bed. He took advantage of him while he was drunk and did something completely outrageous. Soon afterward, the two of them started dating. Shen Xi didn’t think there was anything wrong with that. He and Zhou Boyu were the people closest to each other. They were meant to be together. But this relationship wasn’t what he’d imagined. For the first time, Shen Xi realized with painful clarity that Zhou Boyu treated him well, but that didn’t mean he loved him. Those were two different things. After tormenting each other for over a year, Shen Xi finally decided to let go. He sent a breakup text, then cried all night beneath his blankets. But a month later, his father called him home and dropped the news on him without warning: he and Zhou Boyu were to be married for the sake of an alliance between their families. Wait… then what had his secret relationship been all this time? More importantly, they’d already broken up. Could they still get married after breaking up? Shen Xi looked anxiously at Zhou Boyu, sitting upright on the sofa across from him, hoping he would step in and help him out in front of his father, like he always used to. Dressed in a suit, the man sat ramrod straight as if he were in the middle of an international business meeting. He didn’t even glance at Shen Xi. Instead, he poured a cup of tea and handed it over. “Dad, whatever you say.” “…” We’re not even married yet, and you’re already the only one with a voice. *Bonus scene 1 On their wedding night, Shen Xi laid down three rules. “First, no intimacy. Second, we keep our finances separate. I don’t want anything from you. Third, you can fool around as much as you like outside, and we won’t interfere with each other.” The man lowered his gaze, listened, then gave a cold laugh. He tugged at his tie and stepped closer. “What counts as intimacy? Can I hold you? Kiss you? Should we specify whether I can use my tongue?” “Separating our finances is easy. But I’ve still got half a box of condoms and some toys from before. Who gets those?” “And finally, fool around as much as you like? Go ahead and try.” Zhou Boyu’s voice turned cold. “Baby, do you think I’m dead?” *Bonus scene 2 On Zhou Boyu’s thirtieth birthday, Shen Xi magnanimously took Zhou Boyu’s black card and asked what he wanted. Zhou Boyu pulled him onto his lap and bent down to bite his lips. “Our baby has finally grown up enough to remember to buy me a present.” Shen Xi huffed angrily and raised a hand to hit him, but Zhou Boyu caught him by the wrist and left a string of wet kisses in his palm. “Buy me a tie. You’ve ruined several of mine already. It’s either drool or tears, and…” Zhou Boyu chuckled softly at him. “You’re like a little puppy.” * Theme: Love conquers all.
