To be fair, Xue Si'an was a generous sugar daddy.
He would satisfy every reasonable and unreasonable demand Wu Zhao made. He would fly back from overseas just because Wu Zhao said one thing, and when their passion ran deepest, he could even speak with a soft laugh.
"You are more brilliant than the universe, more concrete than time."
Wu Zhao sometimes got lost in it, his love like green vines trying to climb over a high wall.
But Wu Zhao remained clear-headed in the end. He could see the nonchalance in Xue Si'an's eyes, and feel the cold emptiness beneath those honeyed words.
So when he learned that Xue Si'an planned to end their twisted relationship, Wu Zhao sensibly left of his own accord, leaving behind only a text message.

Here's some twisted, dark, angsty dog-blood drama. I might include my favorite fake-death trope.
The top did develop feelings, but in the way of, "Oh, I'm a little moved, but this definitely won't work out, so I'll just give up." He's alive, but carries a sense of death. A pretty, gloomy little bird.
The bottom is a daddy type with an overwhelmingly strong need for control, and he's a major power player.
Eight-year age gap. Top is 20, bottom is 28.
