What 86 days of vigilantism brought me

What 2,064 years of vigilantism brought me
Bu Wayne: PTSD and split personality ().
Bu Wayne: Haha, just kidding. I don't have a split personality.
If you could do it all over again, would you still do it?
Bu Wayne: As if I chose to do it in the first place :).
Batman: Of course.
At the very beginning, some unknown entity threw Bu Wayne into a parallel DC world that was missing the source data for Bruce Wayne, aka Batman. To keep the world from being destroyed, it demanded that he take Bruce Wayne's place and fulfill Batman's mission. He could only go home after completing the task.
Oh my god, oh my god, become Batman? Is that something an ordinary person can do? Isn't that ridiculous?! Just because his name is Bu Wayne, that doesn't mean he can replace Bruce Wayne as Batman, does it?!!
In the end, Bu Wayne managed to get a game data interface as his golden finger, with six save slots he could load. He wasn't a player who could resurrect, but a player who could reload saves was close enough. At this point, what else could he do besides demand a few perks? If he could have refused, he wouldn't have been thrown here in the first place.
Time flows at a rate of one year in this world for every hour in his own. Watching the timer in the top-right corner of the interface, Bu Wayne sincerely prayed he could get back within three days. Otherwise, he might end up in the hospital in a vegetative state.
By reloading his saves, Bu Wayne learned all the skills Batman needed within a reasonable amount of time. After seven years of studying around the world, an anxious Bu Wayne became Batman at twenty and officially began his long career as a vigilante.
He met Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern... formed the Justice League, took in Dick, Jason, Cass, Tim, Stephanie... and even acquired a biological son, Damian, who appeared as if by automatic generation. Bu Wayne thought Batman's vigilante career was just too exciting.
After he managed to clear Arkham solo in seven hours, Bu Wayne felt he had become a proper Batman. He also hoped to bring this disaster-filled yet thrilling life as Batman to an end within three days and retire happily.
But then, starting with Superman's sudden death, it seemed every crisis broke out all at once. His companions met their ends one by one, and he could never think of a way to solve things. Helplessness once again swept over him.
After he died this time, no save-selection interface appeared before him. Instead, the world itself rebooted, and when Bu Wayne opened his eyes, he was back at the year he returned to Gotham at age twenty.
This time, Superman made his debut earlier than ever. Compared with the Superman Bu Wayne remembered, he was gentler, more mature, stronger, and more rational, better suited to the title of God among Men. Having just suffered a severe mental trauma, Bu Wayne found himself trusting him even more.
Only when Superman tore off his mask did Bu Wayne finally realize that the one he had admired was just an illusory phantom being played by someone else. He was the brutal Superman, evil by nature. Why hadn't he noticed the problem all this time? He had known a thirty-five-year-old Superman, after all.
The world rebooted once more.
He met another Superman, a beacon of justice who was impossibly gentle, and who completely cured the Superman PTSD he'd developed in the last world. There really were beings who made people believe in hope simply by existing. And then he died ().
Murdered by a human vote.
Earthling...
As he faced human brutality, Bu Wayne was still reeling from the news of Superman's death. Humanity had slowly turned bad. Superman's death was the turning point, after which there was no hope of saving them. But why, after experiencing all of it, had he noticed nothing?
The world was affecting him, deceiving him.
The humans in this world, Superman in the previous world, and in the very first world...
Another reboot.
In this world, Batman was the last to make his debut. The Justice League had only been around for a few years when Luthor killed the Flash, and Superman decided to execute Luthor.
Bu Wayne sensed that something was wrong, but Luthor's actions had triggered the fear-of-humanity PTSD he'd just developed in the last world. So he chose to turn a blind eye. Anyway, aside from the Flash, everyone in this world seemed a bit off. Worst case, the world could reboot again (coldly).
And so the White Lord appeared...
Then Injustice...
Arkham Knight...
By the end, Bu Wayne was in such a state of mind that he was tempted to try laughing like the Joker. He wanted to destroy the world. What was there to save in this world? (gloomy)
To keep himself from actually destroying the world, Bu Wayne decided to put a plan he had prepared long, long ago into action: split himself in two, and take turns being Batman and Bruce Wayne. With someone else sharing the workload, he could cut it in half, and have more room to relax mentally.
At long last, Bu Wayne gathered enough information and put together a complete plan to save the world, along with backup plans. During yet another reboot, he used the game interface, which had accumulated energy for a very long time, to reload to the very beginning, back to when he first arrived in this world.
This was the final reload, his last chance. But they would definitely succeed.
I wanted to write a Bruce/Batman selfcest fic, but there was nothing to read and I was starving. And yet, I happen to be picky QAQ, so I could only write it myself ().
I haven't read much of the source material, can't sort out the timeline, and barely know the characters, so OOC is inevitable. But the official writers are so casual about it, I think I could do it too. I'll just throw everything into a pot and stew it all together.
I'm writing the protagonist as Batman himself. The transmigrator premise is because I'm a Batman fan (the one who loves him most in all of DC). Whenever I start wondering what on earth I'm writing, this premise helps me separate myself from the story, which does a great job of stabilizing my mental state (thumbs up).
This is a sweet, happy-ending story. The synopsis will be covered in the opening first-person recollection. The prologue is in first person, and the main story is in third person. It mainly covers the very first and final worlds, and is basically a goofy, sweet romance between Bruce and Batman (nod) (certain).
Also, Bruce Wayne and Batman are the same person in this story, not alternate selves and not split personalities. There's magic, but not entirely. Given this setup, their relationship should theoretically be considered open (? ).
One more thing: this is a self-indulgent work. I won't be sticking to canon. If asked, the answer is that it's a parallel world, the timeline is a mess (because of all the reboots), and the characters are OOC (because of all the reboots). It is full of fanfic stereotypes (shrug). Some characters may not exist at all. Please believe that the reboots are to blame :) Other pairings in this story mostly follow canon, and everyone else is just friends and living their best lives (what).
Lastly, in the source material, Dick seems to choose girlfriends based on his dad's standards... It feels really weird, but I can't get into Bird/Bat or Bat/Bird, so I'll mix in a little of that weirdness from canon. Basically, I'm going to write him as a Gothamite heartbreaker. There's no way anyone couldn't love Bruce Wayne and Batman (firmly convinced).
Theme: Learn to pick up books and enjoy a happy life.
Oh, this is the feeling of being ravaged...
How many chapters will be needed to write about the subsequent reboot? [Hold your cheeks] When I think about how sad Bwayne may be in the future, it's like hurrying up to the main text and then interjecting the narration of the subsequent reboot. It's very interesting. The main reason is that there may be bugs crawling on my body when the reboot is detailed.
